All you need to do is figure out what works for you and do it. I outgrew the coupon organizer a long time ago, so I came up with the binder system. Easy breezy- I got a binder and picked up some trading card holders at the dollar store. I printed tabs off my computer with the different departments on them so I can easily flip the section when I need too.
The plus side of the binder is that I can keep it in the car and always have coupons handy for those unadvertised sales.
The down side of the binder is that you have to keep up with it. Discarding expired coupons and organizing new ones as you get them. If you don’t stay on top off it and just keep slipping them in the front pocket, it just makes a mess. I know this from experience!
Also, if you do go the binder way and bring it into the store with you be prepared for the looks. You know the ones – Oh God it’s the crazy coupon lady – what a cheapo. I just smile and know that I’ll be saving at the register.
