Well, since I’m giving away 2 copies of Tracy Anderson’s 30-Day Method: The Weight-Loss Kick-Start that Makes Perfection Possible I thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve been dying to try one of her workouts for a longtime, but the truth is this: a. I’ve heard they are difficult and b. I hate sweating. Alas, the size of my ass has increased and my winter wardrobe is uncomfortable. I have to do something. So I decided to really commit to changing this part of my life as well. I hope you’ll be interested in learning what I’m up to these next 30 days.
DAY 1
I actually started day 1 twice because my son became sick and I had to bail, so this is the real day one. The book includes a meal plan, and DVD for cardio and deeper instruction of the exercises.
This was breakfast- Strawberries with mint and a teaspoon of agave nectar. I am a big breakfast skipper so this was light and perfect for me. I then weighed myself, took all of my measurements, and took some before photos. (don’t hold your breath on seeing these unless I look like a goddess when I’m done)
Then I worked out, and boy did it suck! I was grunting as my 4 year old kept saying, “oh poor mommy”. Not very inspiring. Here is the scoop: The exercises are very different then any I had dome before and felt a bit awkward. Yet, I had the feeling that something was waking up inside of me. I did the muscle work than moved on to the cardio portion. I loved it! Could I follow it? Not all the time, but it was fun. I was dripping with sweat. I thought I was going to vomit when I stopped. I haven’t worked out in a long time. I hopped in the shower!
This was lunch- Here is a suggestion to help you on this or any diet plan-make the meals ahead of time. It will help you stay on your meal plan. You also use alot of vegetable broth in this plan, so I made a huge pot and froze some so I will have it to use in the future. Sure you can buy it, but I’m not only thrifty, I also have a farm share so I get alot of fresh veggies in this house. I also made ahead some meals for my family anticipating that I wouldn’t want to be cooking for them. It’s all about balance and planning.
I still didn’t feel that great, so my girlfriend suggested that maybe I should exercise after lunch. I figure I’ll give it a try tomorrow. I then ate my snack- some pudding thing. While it was satisfying, I was still starving by the time dinner came.
Okay, so dinner was good and the whole family could eat it. I’m still hungry! So I cheated and ate a little something extra- a big no no to Tracy, but I can’t be hungry and deal with my kids.
Well, I’ll keep you posted. So far I like the exercise, but I think I need more food.
