10 Relaxation Tips for Busy Moms

Moms are some of the busiest women in the world. I mean they have to raise their children to become productive members of society, plus take care of the house, and some even have careers outside the house. You can see how there may be just a little bit of stress in their lives. So, here are my top 10 relaxation tips that every mom should try.
Quick, Easy, and relatively cheap:
- Deep breathing/meditation: This is one of the easiest ways to relax. It can be done anywhere and it’s free.
- Find some place quiet, close your eyes, inhale slowly through your nose, exhale slowly through your mouth, repeat inhaling and exhaling for about 5 minutes.
- Listening to your favorite music: This is a great quick way to relax. Just take 5 minutes and put in your favorite CD, switch to your favorite radio station, or select your favorite song on your iPod.
- Aromatherapy: Light your favorite scented candle, scented oil, or spray your favorite air freshener and just breathe.
Combine all these together for when things are really stressful and you need to relax really quickly.
A little more time, effort, more costly:
- Bubble bath: This is not just for the kids, mommy needs a bubble bath every once and awhile. Buy a really luxurious scented bubble bath, bath oil, or bath salts (make this a splurge item). Get hubby (or grandparents) to watch the kids for a little while and just soak. Add music and soak away all that tension.
- Homemade spa treatments: Use everyday items to give yourself a spa treatment.
Homemade Oatmeal and Honey Facial
1/3 cup fast cooking oatmeal
1/4 cup Honey
1/2 cup water
Cook oatmeal and water mixture. Set aside to cool and thicken. Mix is the honey. Once well mixed apply thin layer to skin
Homemade Hand/Foot scrub
½ cup of sugar
3 tablespoons of olive oil
3 tablespoons of water
Favorite scented oil (optional)
Blend together the sugar, oil & water until smooth. Add a couple of drops of scented oil and enjoy.
- Give yourself a manicure or pedicure: Buy a new nail polish, try something new & daring, and enjoy.
These take the longest & are the most expensive:
- Go to a spa: Enjoy a massage, mani/pedi, facial, get your hair done, or whatever. This is a splurge item to make yourself feel rejuvenated.
- Buy yourself a new color: Anything from a new colored eye shadow, lipstick, nail polish, or even a new shirt.
- Have a mom’s night out: This can be with the girlfriends, hubby, or by yourself. Just get out of the house and have some adult time.
The absolute best relaxation tip:
- Hugs & kisses: Grab your kids, give them a big hug & kiss and tell them you love them. They will usually reciprocate and what better reward is there than that.

Aww I can do with some of this relaxation right about now. Sometimes just have 15mins alone is a challenge.
