By now you have either read The Notebook or have seen the movie, so this isn’t something new. If you’ve only seen the movie you are missing out on so much. I am and have always been a sucker for a tragic love story. I think it’s because if you love somebody that much, even if it’s only for a short amount of time it really isn’t tragic. It’s once in a lifetime. I read this book in two days and cried my eyes out. My heart actually hurt. I wanted that kind of love and I wouldn’t settle for anything less. Maybe it seemed unrealistic to some, but this was loosely based on a true story. That’s right, it was.
Grown up fairy tale? I don’t know, but what I do know is that there are guys out there that write poetry, that sing, that profess their undying love for the women they want to be with forever. I held out for that passion and I got it. I’m thankful everyday for my husband, even when I can’t stand something that he did. We are all human, and it if we never make mistakes that would the unreal part. The important part of any relationship is that through it all even when nobody else gets it you have someone that does. That doesn’t judge or take advantage. That’s true love. That’s worth waiting for because it does exist.

I read the notebook years ago. It touched me so deeply. My grandmother had alzheimers. I cried the entire book. The movie I saw first five minutes and waked out as it just did not do the book right. By far one of my favorite books ever.

OK only saw the movie and LOVED it, so I think I need to borrow the book for one of my summer reads!
