My readers know I love a good cocktail, but I had never tried PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur. Now, I love pomegranate so I couldn’t wait to give this a try with a few close friends and see what they think as well. I also received a bottle of Denizen Rum, so we had a party to see how mommies really like their cocktails! Daddies take note!
I wanted to try both so the first mix was PAMA, rum, orange juice, cranberry juice, and ginger ale. All mixed together in equal parts. Out of 9 testers, only 2 truly enjoyed it. Others found it too strong, but I like a strong drink so this was actually a favorite of mine. To my surprise the moms enjoyed their PAMA straight! Yes, I said, “Straight!” Some of the comments were, ” I could definitely enjoy a nice chilled glass of PAMA, especially with my dessert!” “Straight is the way to go, it’s so smooth.” ” I’ve only enjoyed eating pomegranate now I can drink it, awesome!” 9 out of 9 testers liked it served alone.
We also mixed a PAMA and champagne cocktail! I loved it. The other testers did as well, but they were sticking to their guns about drinking PAMA solo. This would be enjoyable at brunch or anytime. It was crisp and sparkling. I would serve this at my next party or family event. Here are some other thoughts about PAMA. I love the rich, deep color red of the liqueur. The shape of the bottle is elegant and the graphic of a pomegranate tree eye catching. I also love the screw off cork top. PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur can be found at retailers nationwide. So, a couple of the moms went old school with the Denizen Rum and mixed it with some cola. Not every mom loves a classic cocktail, but rum comes in handy for a variety of drinks. Personally, I enjoyed the rum and PAMA mix. I also think that this particular rum was very clear and smooth. It has a slight note of tropical fruit. Once again, I love the label on this bottle. It looks old fashioned and polished. Perfect for a Mother’s Day daiquiri or pina colada. Just on a side note, Denizen is named for the free-spirited world traveler who seeks out new experiences, and embodies liberation, rebellion and bravery. Sounds just like motherhood!
