My Broccoli Parmesan has always been a big hit. Unfortunately, this pic is what it looks like before it goes in the oven, I didn’t get an after pic because we ate it took quick! You can easily substitute ingredients to make this dish gluten and dairy free as well. Here is what you need:
1 small onion, chopped
3 TBS butter
2 TBS flour
1 cup milk
1 egg yolk, beaten
1 10 ounce package frozen broccoli, cooked ( I used fresh)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Bread Crumbs ( I used gluten free)
Saute onion in butter until onion is tender, but not brown. Stir in flour and gradually stir in milk.
Cook, stirring until sauce is smooth and thick. Remove sauce from heat, cool a little, then stir in egg yolk, broccoli, and cheese.
Empty into small casserole and sprinkle with bread crumbs .
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
