Are you wondering where my 10 things list is today? Well, I’m going to try my hand at something different this week. A fellow blogger has attacked “the list”, not mine personally, but bloggers that make lists and the people that read them. While I admit that a top 10 list is not the most original idea, it has been something that most of my readers enjoy. Do you really care about what I learned this week or do you just pass the time reading a quick checklist of things? Let’s see. I’m taking this bloggers criticism and trying to make myself a better writer instead of playing a victim to a bully. I’m not the one making a living being cruel and mean to people online under an alias. I’m being me. So, here is a quick narrative about my week and I’m curious to know what you prefer; the list or the narrative. Please leave me a comment.
This week I learned that getting what you want comes with some sacrifice. I wanted my husband to powerwash the house for quite sometime now. What I didn’t want is the phone and internet lines to go down. It actually turned out to be a good thing because our line was already compromised and this caused me to call a tech to come out. Everything is fixed and we had an awesome tech. Yes, there are some very nice (and mean) people that work for Verizon. I was lucky. I also learned that you cannot catch up on sleep once it’s been lost. It’s Friday now and I still feel fatigued from sleep that I had lost on Tuesday. I feel as if even if even if I spent all day in bed things still would not even out. I need my sleep. It has caused me to be lackluster in all areas of my life this week. It’s been both a long and short week. I’m proud of myself that I didn’t let criticism bury me. I also know when I need to back off and give myself and my kids time to relax and reboot.I have control over my life.
I also learned that sometimes it’s more important to let things go than to be right. This was a hard one for me, but a true growing moment. Darn it, I’m an adult. I will admit it does feel good taking the higher ground and not harbouring any hate. I’m learning so much about myself everyday. This was a very good Summer for me. I’m also learning as I type this that I prefer my list over this narrative. You let me know what you think. I’m sure that my stalker mommies will be disappointed at this as well. They seem to like the list and are always desperate to figure out whom I might be talking about! LOL!
Have a great weekend.

I like the narrative… sorry, I really do! I feel like you go more in-depth about things. However, the list is a quicker way for me to keep up.

The list!!! But I did enjoy reading todays post, I am just someone who doesn’t spend a lot of time on line so the list is quicker and more humorous to me.

The list! Top Ten lists are popular for the same reason bullet points are popular in business: to catch your attention, make things short and sweet. They’re easy to read and contrast with each other and it’s a welcome break from everyday prose. I, for one, look forward to your list for the same reason I find David Letterman’s Top Ten list the highlight of every show. Don’t listen to that person who must have some issues!
