In a nutshell, I learned that things have to change again. The groove that we were riding has come to end. School starting has really thrown the entire family off track and we must begin creating a new rhythm. I have always firmly believed that the start of school is my New Year. It’s a time to refocus and evaluate what I want from this life. As a mom I’m responsible for helping my children do that too. So far that has meant quitting piano for my oldest and I’m morning about it. We’ve had a difficult time finding his place. I see a long road ahead, but I’m not sure where it’s going. After all, who is sure? Tonight I’m hosting a ladies night, and for tonight I’m free from thinking about it at all. Here we go:
This week I learned that:
10. people have no problem taking things from me without saying thank you. ( Honestly, that’s all I want.)
9. even I can get stumped in parenting. ( Yes, it’s true. I don’t know everything. I was on a roll for awhile, but now I’m stumped.)
8. I’m still the same person no matter what situation I’m in. ( LOL! I’m writing an entire post about this, but a car service, the Kardashian’s and Giulianna Rancic put together can’t save me for being me!)
7. my spilling something is completely inevitable. ( If it can be spilled, he will spill it. I can’t even yell at him anymore. I just laugh and say, “Of course you spilled it!”
6. most of my friends have dubbed me the healthiest person they know. ( Don’t be too impressed. I’m still a mess, but I think that all the wine I drink has pickled me! )
5. one of the best things about being a mom is being able to turn your child’s crappy day into a great one. ( Good timing allowed me to give my child his Halloween costume right after he got off the bus crying. The smile still hasn’t stopped!)
4. it’s important to never judge a person. ( That half put together person that you might think little of my have just suffered a great loss. Likewise that well put together person you think is a snob, could have suffered a similar loss.)
3. TV is a huge pile of trash. ( Seriously, Honey Boo Boo? This what has happened to TV since I had it 7 years ago? Wow!)
2. I miss those late night phone calls with girlfriends. ( Now, we are old and fall asleep. I had a reminder when one of my friends called me when she was sipping her whiskey! It was fun!)
1. I need to start from scratch. EVERYTHING. ( Too much to explain, but this should be fun. I think.)
Have a great weekend! Please stop by and enter my giveaways! I have some awesome stuff for you.
