This week I’ve felt like that guy in the picture. I started out the week not feeling so great, but bounced back quickly. Then I got stuck dealing with some people that I found quite toxic, luckily I’m in a place where I was was able to deal with that as well. Things could always be worse and I’m reminded of that everyday. So, this is the small stuff and I’m trying not to sweat it. ( so cliche, but true) Things were looking up, but then I found out that this isn’t the last week of football and we have to make an appearance at Homecoming tonight. It’s pouring rain. Fun. Just think by the time October is over when football ends I’ll have to deal with holiday stress and awkward family moments. Oh joy! Such is life. Here we go:
This week I learned that:
10. another rip off of my “10 Things” list has appeared…..annoying. ( At least change it up a bit more then calling it “Things I Learned” . And before I get any comments, yes I do realize that lists aren’t original, but this one is mine. Like I said, just change it up a bit. Maybe call yours “My weekly life lessons or something”. )
9. somebody needs to stop me next year before I volunteer again to be the head room parent. ( It’s a love hate relationship I have with being one. Just please stop me. I’m begging you.)
8. I’m still the same person I always have been except I’ve been wearing bad clothes. ( This mom is making herself over before it’s too late and I start wearing elastic waist pants with sensible shoes.)
7. I have really had enough of people constantly referring to their child as a genius. ( First of all a true genius is very rare. Secondly every child has special gifts. Finally, your posts are so annoying and they wouldn’t be if you would just let your child shine on their own. Let others compliment your kid before you do.)
6. wearing high heels makes me feel amazingly sexy. ( I think I’ll be wearing them more often. )
5. so much has changed within the last few weeks. ( the way I feel, see and hear things. It’s incredible. I can’t even describe it, but I feel it. It’s good.)
4. you can find several horror movies on TV any day in October-Score!!!!!! ( We haven’t had TV in like 7 years and I love horror movies!)
3. my son makes pretend to be happy while he participates in activities at school. ( He broke my heart on Saturday when he wouldn’t participate in a theater workshop. Not because he wouldn’t do it but because he told me at school he smiles and goes along with the activities. He then turned to me and said, ” With you I don’t have to pretend, you understand me.”)
2.I have to set small weekly goals for myself in order to achieve success. ( I accomplished so much more this week with small focused goals instead of that large haunting list.)
1. as much as I love blogging I think that this is just going to be a stepping stone to something else. ( I don’t know what yet, but I can feel it in my bones.)
