As moms we end up being the caregivers many times in our lives, sometimes it can be hard having to care for yourself. I know personally I have a hard time remembering if I took my vitamins let alone if I needed to take any medications. The Rx Timer Cap comes in a variety of sizes to fit your prescription bottles. It also offers childproof and non childproof caps. It’s easy to use. The Rx Timer Cap features a built in LCD timer that resets itself every time the cap is opened. Once you close the cap it starts counting the minutes and hours since the patient last took the medication. No activation, no buttons, no instructions and nothing to program. It’s really that simple.Wouldn’t you feel more at ease if you knew your loved one was taking there medication properly? Or if you didn’t need to remind yourself? The World Health Organization found that less than 50% of patients take their medications as directed. Failure to take meds as directed costs 125,000 lives each year and close to $300 billion in increased healthcare costs. Studies proved that using the RX Timer Cap lifted adherence by as much as 34%. I tried 6 different types of Rx Timer Caps and was pleased at how easily they all worked. I’m going to be passing these along to family members that are currently taking meds and struggling with remembering if and when they took them.
The one downfall is that the caps are not meant to be reusable. They were designed to be disposable in order to avoid cross contamination. I get that. I suppose if you only use it for the same type of medication you can make it last longer. As much as I hate waste, I like that this product can actually save lives.
The cap is available at various pharmacies throughout the country (and is being introduced to more on an ongoing basis). Some pharmacies give them away for free for customers enrolled in their auto-refill program – – some offer a free cap for first-time customers and some charge for the cap. It depends on the pharmacy. However, the caps can be purchased via the website (varying prices depending on quantities purchased).
What to try it? Want it for someone you love? I’m able to offer a giveaway of one Rx Timer Cap to one of my readers. The giveaway is US only and ends on December 21, 2012 Please wait for the form to load and good luck!
Disclosure: I received samples of the Rx Timer Cap in order to facilitate my review. All thoughts are my own!

I want this for my mother. Fortunately for our family none of us are on medications, but my mother just had a pacemaker installed and she is on a litany of pills.
