Is this what it would be like to be a Kardashian?
Yes, I had a chance to use the same toilet that Kim Kardashian used and I felt special for a moment until a friend gave me a smackdown and said, “Why would you want your ass anywhere near where Kim’s has been!” Here is how the story begins:
As a blogger I get opportunities to attend special events and some of them include celebrities. For this particular event a car was sent to pick me up and bring me to the event. This was only the second time that I had a car and driver, but I wanted to enjoy it more than I had in the past. The first time I was so nervous that the driver would find out I was a fraud, by that I mean not special, a nobody, a suburban housewife that won a free ride. When I got home from that first event I realized it was silly of me to have those thoughts and if I ever had the chance to do it again I’d do it right. I was important. I was special. I am somebody and yes a part of that is being a housewife. So what, I’m a rock star to my kids, I can do this in style.
So, here I am ready for my next event. I’m going to rock it. I had to quiet the little voice inside of head that said, “Seriously? You just took a shower with SpongeBob Bubble Bath and colored in the scuff mark on your shoe with a Sharpie- FRAUD! Oh, you be quiet little voice and let the nice man open the car door for me, plug in my phone and let’s get ready to roll.
I felt good this time. I owned it. Then, I had to pee. When we pulled over at the rest area and the driver jumped out and opened the door for me people stopped and stared. They were probably wondering who I was. I laughed to myself and held my head high as I strutted to the bathroom. I’m really doing this.
I arrived at The Gansevoort Park Avenue to find out that we would be having our Blogger roundtable discusion in what is known as The Kardashian Suite. A two story suite that the sisters stayed in while filming in New York. We took photos, snacked, had a Twitter party all in the company of Giuliana Rancic. It was so surreal for me to be in that place with that company. Although I must admit that as I looked at the clock all I thought about was when my boys would be coming home from school.
When it was time to leave the doorman helped me find my car. This time they had sent a black Escalde to pick me up. I smiled as the doorman escorted me to my car and when he held the door for me I hit my head getting into the car. The doorman and driver looked horrified, then I turned around and started laughing. I wondered “What would Kim have done?” As for me I’m off to my reality and I won’t trade it for the world. A dip in the pool every now and then does a mommy good.
