Yes, this is my sad little money coffee can, but I have faith it will save me a few bucks. I learned about the 52 Week Money Challenge on MommyGaga.com. It seemed so simple I couldn’t believe I have never tried it before, but I’m in. Here is the scoop: Starting from the first week in January you deposit money in your can or jar in the amount of the week. Week 1 equals $1, week 2 $2 and so on, you get it! Since I’m just starting I have to put $10 in my can. By the end of your 52 weeks you’ll have $1,378! Sounds easy right? I think my biggest challenge is going to be not borrowing from my can. I already have a check list of how much money I’ve “borrowed” from my son’s wallet. I swear I’m putting it all back this week!
Are you doing the challenge? Have you tried it? Let me know. Here is a photo that you can print if you want to toss it on your own jar or can.
I’ve been using a highlighter to keep track of what week I’m on. The type is tiny so I need all the help I can get. If you use a money tracking program you can add the challenge to it as well to remind you to put money aside for your can. Have fun and save a bunch!
