A friend of mine that I don’t speak with frequently told me that she could tell what’s going on with my life by reading my 10 things list. I beg to differ. Especially this weeks list. Just because I post negative things I have learned doesn’t mean I had a bad week, it just means that’s what I learned. I can have a bad week and learn great lessons, likewise I have a good week and learn things I wish didn’t exist. To know me. you really have to talk to me, spend time with me and laugh or cry with me. This week has been a mixed bag and that’s okay. Here we go:
This week I learned that:
10. just talking to a certain someone can quickly remind me why I didn’t like them in the first place. ( Yes, I still have to keep my guard up with you.)
9. I jump to conclusions too quickly. ( I almost had a panic attack over nothing. I’m such a drama queen!)
8. no one can take something from you that’s truly yours. ( Not your talent, your hard work, or your spirit.)
7. the only way to get through to some people is to call them on their shit. ( Funny, how nice people can be when you call them out. I like so much more now!)
6. my friends are as nuts as I am. ( I love how no one asks why I have 3 feather boas or how come I have easy access to a sombrero when called upon.)
5. there are just somethings I wish I didn’t know. ( With age comes responsibility.)
4. it annoys me when people refer to things by brand name rather than generic. ( Somehow coffee has become Starbucks and cell phones have become iPhones. I don’t know. I don’t say I’ll be there in my Honda with my Ralph Lauren on.)
3. in general people aren’t being very supportive of me starting another fitness program. ( I don’t know what’s wrong with eating better and exercising.)
2. someone is always going to be there telling you what you should and shouldn’t be doing as a parent. ( I’m going to start carrying a bag with mini trophies in it. That way when someone gives me advice or tells me what they think I’m doing wrong I can reward them for being a master of the parenting universe!)
1. I wish I had a magic wand that I could wave and make things better. ( I do.)
Ruth says
Ooooooh – a great idea! but trophies can be heavy – how about certificates?
Jenn says
When you find that wand pass it over here PLEASE…
