* Disclosure: This event was sponsored by IAMS and SheSpeaks. I was given VIP benefits, but all thoughts are my own. The dog however was borrowed! LOL! *
Yes, I borrowed a dog and brought along my friend Jenn from DisorderlyMomma.com to be her wrangler. As, you can see this huge dog needed to be wrangled-LOL! As someone who does not own a dog Mia was the perfect companion on our way to New York city for the IAMS So Good! event. She snuggled on my lap and I fell in love with her. She was quite the joiner at the event and loved having her photo taken. We couldn’t wait to hear about IAMS So Good! and how it’s making dog food healthier.
Celebrity Chef Art Smith was on hand with his dog, as were many of the guests. We gathered to hear about “What’s really in your bowl?” I find that dog owners are so passionate about their pets, but not everyone is aware of the amount of artificial dyes and chemicals that go into their pets food. Many major brands may add things like Red Dye #40 or corn syrup. IAMS So Good! is made with 100% wholesome ingredients with no added sugars, dyes or artificial preservatives. You can compare IAMS So Good! to other major brands at www.WhatsReallyInYourBowl.com
One question that a dog owner asked during the interview was “How do I make the change to my dog’s diet?” I found out last year when I had to change the food that my cat was eating that you can’t just stop what you are giving your pet and switch brands. It can actually make them sick. Here is how you do it:
How To Transition Your Dog to IAMS So Good!
Chef Art Smith, formerly personal chef to Oprah, was the perfect spokesperson for this event. He was passionate about what his animals eat and knowledgeable in explaining the process of how other brands make their food and why IAMS So Good! is a better choice. He was joined by several executives from IAMS, but one stood out and stole the show. That was Pawl Griffin, Vice President, P&G Canine Communications.
Pawl Griffin is a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (PBGV) and was born on December 31, 2010. He is currently the Vice President of P&G Canine Communications. Griffin earned his championship title and became certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog. He is a champion of pet adoptions, a good will “Dogitarian” and is passionate about helping improve the lives of dogs and cats around the world. As I said, show stealer! You can follow Pawl on Twitter at @PaulGriffin
After a book signing by Chef Art Smith the event moved to Union Square Park, where him and his dog Cochon was joined by Nick Cannon and his dog Reverend Pow Jackson, two-time gold medalist Aly Raisman and her dog Coco. The event was open to the public and it gave people a chance to have pictures taken with their dog, receive samples and learn about IAMS So Good!

This event was my thing! I loved it!!!!! I have to say besides IAMS and Chef Art Smith and the She Speaks Crew doing a wonderful job of taking care of everybody two footed or four, the W Hotel got two and four paws up for being such a pet friendly hotel! From the minute we walked in the door , Mia was the focus! She got a wonderful homemade dog cookie shaped like a W from the staff at the W Hotel. They could not stop cooing over her! Everywhere you looked you could see a water dish or a dish with dog cookies. A pet lover’s dream for traveling to NYC. One of my most favorite events!

That looks like the event was a blast! We have cats, but had to do the same thing to switch them to a healthy all natural crunchy food. I guess like humans they get used to the junk and fillers, so it can be hard to make the switch!

This looks like a great day. I think so many people have no idea what is in their food and the food they feed their pets.

My mother-in-law just got a new dog yesterday. I will have to tell her about Iams. Thanks for sharing about this partnership. I appreciate it.

This looks like you had a great time! I never would have thought that artificial dyes would be found in dog food. (I am not a dog owner myself so I’ve never really looked at dog food)

Oh what a fun opportunity, I know my dogs would have loved it!
