“I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Zact. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating”
Has it happened to you yet? Has your child asked for their very own smartphone? While my boys haven’t yet I personally have had concerns about their safety and would love to be able to communicate with them while they are not at home. The thought of adding another phone to our bill was a bit overwhelming for me, but then I found out about Zact Mobile. Zact is a no contract nationwide mobile service that has parental controls. Parents can set the amount of text and data usage and also set restrictions such as, bedtimes, meal times, and even a curfew. You also get to rollover unused time so the average Zact bill is only about $22 a month. Zact was also recently awarded the seal of approval from The National Parenting Center. Now that’s something I can feel good about as a parent.

I like the rollover unused time, I need to switch up our service, I hardly use my phone except for emergencies, this may be a the plan I need. It sure is a lot more affordable than my current plan. Thanks for the info.

Not sure how I feel about phones for young children but this looks like something I would check out.,

My son is 14 and his dad already got him a smartphone. I would have waited a few years. But this looks pretty neat for young kids.

i do think our 8 year old will have one in the next few years, just in case of emergency

Great idea. We have already obtained cell phones for our kids (great way to know they are safe!), but this looks like a good deal for those contemplating it.
Alicia Taylor says
Oh yes! My kids have definitely asked. We made the rule, however, that we don’t get them phones until they are in high school.

I have heard about this. If my kids were older I would definitely get this for them.

Those parental controls are so important. This sounds like a great family option.

This looks like a great phone for younger kids. My husband used to work out of town (before smart phones) so my daughter got a basic, emergency cell phone to keep in touch with him when she was in sixth grade. One like this would have been perfect.

We have a three year old, so it’s probably going to be 9 or 10 years until she gets her first phone, but she’s already a whiz at unlocking and using ours. When the time comes for her to get one, a phone like this would be perfect!

My daughter is getting older and I know she’ll be asking for a phone soon enough! I actually think this sounds like a great plan.
