Back in May my husband and I had the pleasure of attending the opening night of Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network) at Discovery Times Square. We are big Marvel fans and so are my young boys. We really didn’t know what to expect. The exhibit is interactive and brings visitors into the world of S.H.I.E.L.D. as new recruits. You begin your journey by being asked to join S.H.I.E.L.D. as you enter official headquarters. S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based educational pathways were used for this exhibit. Science and technology are the key to bringing to the life the world of the Marvel Avengers.
Once you enter you are exposed to a variety of intelligence files, classified studies, and experiments that explore the origins of The Avengers. I felt as if I had a behind the scenes look at Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and more. Visitors also get to take a look at various artifacts guarded by S.H.I.E.L.D. Included in these artifacts are Captain America’s Birth Pod, the Tesseract Portal Device, Loki’s Scepter, a hermetically sealed Chitauri and more.
Visiting NYC this Summer? Don’t miss out on this exhibit. We had a blast and are taking our boys back this Summer. Where else in the world can you map out the stars to find Asgard, learn to operate Iron Man’s suit, witness the neurological effects of Bruce Banner’s transformation into the Hulk, and physically test themselves against Captain America? Well, at Discovery Times Square!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. Tickets were provided for me to attend a media event and a return visit. All thoughts and lusting for Tony Stark are my own!
