Every January I like to take some and reflect back on the year, both personally and professionally. I took a small step back from blogging while I was homeschooling my son. My family has and always will come first. This September both of my boys are going to a new school. It has been an adjustment for everyone, but honestly I don’t think we’ve ever been happier. So, I’m diving in this year. I’ll be starting with a redesign of my site and introducing some new topic areas, letting go of some old ones, and getting back to my roots writing about my life as both a mom and a person. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us! So, here are some of my favorite highlights from 2015. Enjoy!
January was all about oven baked bacon and eggs! I never knew that you could bake bacon in the oven so this was a big game changer for me. It worked out wonderfully when my son had a sleepover. My oven baked eggs are also hard beat! I can make a weeks work of egg sandwiches so you can have a grab and go hot breakfast. These are still popular posts today!
February took us to Monster Jam! My oldest son was sick so my husband covered the event for me with his dad and our little guy! The pre-show pit party is always a blast!
My son took over my blog in March to share his vegetarian sushi recipe! I think this year I’m going to feature a cooking with kids weekly post. ( Well, at least that will be one of my goals.) I think connecting with kids in the kitchen would be a fun item to add.
April was a busy month for us at Be Your Best Mom! I interviewed Nicholas Sparks, Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson for The Longest Ride.
The same interview session also included director George Tillman, Jr, the legendary Alan Alda and Oona Chaplin! As a side perk I got to ride a mechanical bull with direction from Amazing Race contestant and PBR bull rider Cord McCoy in the basement of the Ritz Carlton! I also attended several other events such as an awesome cocktail party thrown by 3M and Scotch products.
In May we screened Hot Pursuit and met the lovely Sofia Vergara. Let me just say wow!
Monster Jam was back! This time outdoors at the Met Life Stadium. We all were able to attend and I even ran into a high school classmate of mine while I was there!
In July we took some friends of ours to NYC to screen Minions! Gift bags and lots of laughs!
August had some slow moments, but my cat Ritzy had his moment to shine in a Sheba campaign. Although he did not win the contest he gained quite a few fans!
We were ready for the force this September with Hasbro and Star Wars! Light Sabers all around!
Plus I helped Staples bring back to school to my blog with the help of Jersey Belle and #Cawfeetawk mom Jaime Primak Sullivan and Leeza Gibbons!
In October my boys had a chance to do some baking with Sarah Michelle Gellar and her new business venture FoodStirs!
Finally in November I was able to post about our fun time reviewing Just Dance 2016 that happened over the Summer. Sometime we aren’t allowed to post or review items or events until it gets closer to the release date. Not all events happen in the month they are posted on, that’s why my boys have shorts on here!
December was a super quiet month for us! We had some fun giveaways and my top 10 list, but the boys enjoyed their Fantastic 4 movie night and in home science experiments. My blog is in the process of being redesigned and I just can’t wait to share all the great things that this new year has to offer us! Thank you for being a reader and if you aren’t already please subscribe and never miss a post! I promise it will be worth it!

My husband makes sushi but hasn’t done vegetarian yet. That looks so great.

Sounds like you had an amazing year and that kids in the kitchen segment sounds like one I would totally like to see. My pre-schooler just loves to cook with me and that might be something I’ll do as well sometime in the future.
