Welcome, I’m Ritzy and I’ll be guest posting on my human mother’s blog today. I was asked my opinion on Nine Lives the movie. I have an opinion on everything, but these people never take the time to ask me so I’m slightly flattered today. (Although, I would never let them know that! A a cat I need to play it cool at all times.)
Cat Movie Night with Nine Lives:
Do you believe these two? I can’t tell if they are mocking me or if they really want to be me. I suppose I’ll let them watch the movie with me after all there are humans in it. Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner and Christopher Walken, such strange names aren’t they?
Before the movie night this cat needs a nap, after all they sent me this fantastic carpet to scratch and nap on. Finally, I’m being appreciated by Fox Home Entertainment. Can Kevin Spacey really voice a beast as fantastic as myself? He must be a good actor. They wouldn’t have given him that Academy Award if he wasn’t. I pay attention. I know things.
Do you believe that these humans I have lived with for 7 years wanted to invite this stray cat inside of our home for the movie? I had to draw the line. I rushed out the door and scared that little beast off the porch. This is an exclusive event. I can’t believe they feed this tiny thing. On with the show….
Seriously? Christopher Walken as a cat whisperer? I love it! If I had only known I would have auditioned for the role of Mr.Fuzzypants. Don’t I look like I could have Kevin Spacey’s voice coming out of my mouth?
About Nine Lives:
Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game. His eponymous company FireBrand is nearing completion on its greatest achievement to date – the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. But Tom’s workaholic lifestyle has disconnected him from his family, particularly his beautiful wife Lara (Jennifer Garner) and his adoring daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman).
Rebecca’s 11th birthday is here, and she wants the gift she wants every year, a cat. Tom hates cats, but he is without a gift and time is running out. His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats- where the store’s eccentric owner- Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken), presents him with a majestic tomcat, named Mr. Fuzzypants.
En route to present his daughter with her dream pet, a bizarre turn of events finds Tom trapped inside the body of Mr. Fuzzypants. Adopted by his own family, he begins to experience what life is truly like for the family pet, and as a cat, Tom begins to see his family and his life through a new and unexpected perspective. Meanwhile, his family adjusts to life with an odd and stubborn cat, and his son David (Robbie Amell), steps up in ways Tom never expected.
If any hope exists of returning to his family as the husband and father they deserve, Tom will have to learn why he has been placed in this peculiar situation and the great lengths he must go to earn back his human existence.
Final thoughts from Ritzy:
The kids had a great time and I think that we as cats were portrayed in a positive light! The film of course would have been better if they didn’t let those dogs be in it, but every film needs a villain. Watch it with your family and your fur friends! Hopefully, they will let me guest post again.
Disclosure: As a Fox Home Entertainment Insider I was sent the film, information and promotional products. As always all thoughts belong to my fur baby Ritzy and have not been influenced!
