Last week my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of attending a screening of Snatched followed by an interview with Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn. The event was hosted by The MOMS, Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein. My friend is a huge fan of Amy Schumer, so grabbing a sneak peek at Snatched before it’s May 12th release was a huge treat. (Little did she know that wasn’t the only treat she would get on this day!)
Dumped by her boyfriend on the eve of their vacation, impetuous dreamer Emily Middleton (Amy Schumer) persuades her cautious mother, Linda, (Goldie Hawn) to accompany her on an exotic getaway to South America. Polar opposites, Emily and Linda must soon work through their differences to escape from a wildly outrageous and dangerous jungle adventure.
We viewed the film and as if the laughs weren’t enough we had these lovely ladies join us! Both of them gorgeous, full of life and clever as always!
My friend just about died when they entered and we were only sitting a few rows away!
The laughs just continued as The Moms recorded the interview for their Podcast. You can catch the entire interview and follow The MOMs on their Podcast!
A (FEW) MINUTES WITH THE MOMS: AMY SCHUMER AND GOLDIE HAWN
My Thoughts on Snatched:
Hysterical! Can I just say hysterical one more time? After a 15 year leave from film, it was great to see Goldie Hawn back in action. Her character playing Schumer’s mom, a complete opposite of Schumer’s character was spot on funny. Schumer plays her character in typical Schumer fashion and brought down the house with the laughs. Would I bring my mom to see it? NO! My mom would not appreciate the raunchy humor, but I know other moms that would! It would be a fun film to see with your girlfriend or your super cool mom! ( Or better yet a whole bunch of super cool moms!) You will have to pick your mouth up off the floor a few times and say, “Oh no she didn’t!” Hysterical!
So, what happened after the interview was over? Well, the lovely Amy Schumer stuck around a bit.
That’s when the magic happened!
Just as she was about to leave I leapt forward and tapped Amy Schumer on the shoulder and asked her if she could wait and take one last photo with my friend. She said, “Of course!” We didn’t think this moment would happen and it did! My friend was able to tell Amy how much she loved her work and what her work means to her. They chatted briefly and when my friend told Schumer that she was headed to radiation immediately following this event Amy looked her in the eye and said, ” We are all with you.”
That was magic.
Thanks again to The MOMS for having these events! Be sure to follow their Podcasts and go see Snacthed in theaters May 12Th!
