Awhile ago I saw a post on someones blog, (sorry it was so long ago, I can’t remember) about a food program called Angel Food ministries. There are no income requirements to purchase food through this program.
I tried it awhile back and for the most part I was satisfied. I kept forgetting about it and recently tried it again. I was more than satisfied with the quality of the items I purchased.
The big part of this is being able to feed a family of 4 for $30 a week. Is it possible, maybe. Take a look at the packages and let me know. Click HERE to check out if the program is available in your area.
Can you really feed a family of 4 on $30 a week, well, I guess it depends on your diet requirements. Is it possible? I believe so.
Let me know if you’ve tried this program, I’m curious to what you think.
I use this program to supplement my meal plans. I do very well couponing so it doesn’t always make sense for me. I usually take the seafood package which insn’t being offered this month- rats!

My father is a minster and his church recently started in this popular "Angel Food" meals program. I have assisted in packing the items per family based request and have handled just about each ticketed request that we offer (found on the website). I personally think that this offering of food could be better and have spoke to my father about it, I do not believe that enough is gained for the money spent and the promise of feeding a family of 4 for a week. However, this is my option. I think it's a great program to supplement however frugal mothers may do better in cost on their own, without the $30 fee and obtain more. It's a wonderful program for families that have nothing and that are struggling but yet I ask for those blessed people why we charge to begin with.

I agree that I wish the packages were healthier. I like the program because it allows for someone like me to supplement my shopping while not having to meet any income requirements. Yes, I do better couponing, but not everyone does that so this works for them. Sure, it would be great to give people in need food for free, but there are many programs in place that already do that WIC, food stamps, etc. I know that our local food pantries are in dire need of food donations to supplement the people that are already on these programs. This at least is an affordable way to get more food in a home. It really is a lot to think about, not having food. So glad that you are involved and commented. Thank you.

It looks like this is not offered in my area 🙁
I have a huge problem right now trying to do a budget for grocery shopping, we seem to spend an awful lot a month on food. I suppose i need to plan better, i am just not there yet.
