You must think I have forgotten about my 10 things post! I didn’t post last week, as I was at a blog event and yesterday I had a ladies night. I’m still working out the kinks in my postings so I apologize. It is however a good thing that I didn’t post yesterday as my perspective has changed. Sure, I learned quite a few things that might not be considered that positive. Then it all made sense, my unfortunate tendency to focus on the negative instead of the positive. I believe this will be a life long battle, but at least I’m aware of it. That’s half of it right? To be honest I’ve been kind of annoyed at all the Facebook “I’m thankful for” posts. I don’t feel the need to tell everyone that I’m thankful for my family, friends, etc- it’s obvious. I tell them everyday. I wish people would think a little outside of the thankful box and tell me what are you truly thankful for. Is it that you got the last piece of of pie? or how about the 10 pounds you just lost? or how about that annoying kid isn’t coming to your play group anymore? ( Yes, I know.) I have learned quite a few lessons these past 2 weeks and here is what I’m thankful for:
I am thankful for:
10. a friend that was thoughtful enough to give me that mug in the picture! ( not only did she bring me the giftie, but she told me that it made her think of me! I love it!)
9. forgiveness. ( It’s the best gift you can give to anyone that has made a mistake. It’s also the best one to receive.)
8. honesty. ( Friends that I can be honest with and can in turn be honest with me.)
7. music. ( I feel as if my life is a soundtrack at times. It can be fun, erotic and sad at times.)
6. Legos. ( My kids were so entertained the other night that my company was surprised there were kids here at all.)
5. being able to share my blog goodies with friends. ( I have been blessed with so much writing this blog that I’m so glad to be able to share some of the rewards with my friends and followers.)
4. being able to be myself. ( I don ‘t feel as if I have to pretend to be anyone else and it’s good.)
3. having a husband that puts up with the crazy.( There is plenty of that here.)
2. the changing of the seasons. ( I really couldn’t live anywhere that didn’t fully experience the Earth and it’s cycles.)
1. this life that I live. ( Things could always have gone a different way, I’m glad it went the way that it did. )
Here is a little about what I really want to say:
10. I’m thankful for hot construction workers. ( Yes, my hubby is one, but it helps when you are waiting in traffic to have something to look at!)
9. I’m thankful for nail polish remover and it’s use to remove my cold sore. ( Thanks Jenn)
8. I’m thankful for caller Id so I don’t have to deal with anyone I don’t want too.
7. I’m thankful for the little mishaps in life that turn favorably in my way.
6. I’m thankful that I have open minded friends that won’t turn a porny gift away!
5. I’m thankful for the Twilight series. ( yep, said it)
4. I’m thankful for full day Kindergarten because this chick was just done with kids. ( That’s right I said it.)
3. I’m thankful for Netflix. ( I don’t have TV so I love this.)
2. I’m thankful that I have aged well. ( Why not just say it? I’m glad.)
1. I’m thankful that after all these years I still like dancing in the kitchen while having a cocktail!
Celebrate! Things don’t have to be a certain way because someone at someplace in time decided it so, this is your life. Be thankful for all of it. The good, the bad, the ugly, nobody is perfect. We are all a work in progress. Happy Thanksgiving!
