What is Mayesa? Mayesa is a decadent yet healthy chocolate drink made from organic cacao, the purest form of chocolate. They blend their cacao with hemp protein, rice, and select spices to create this smooth and flavorful dairy-free drink. That’s right it’s a dairy-free, gluten-free, and soy-free drink. I was sent a couple of samples to try – plain chocolate and mint. I’m not a big fan of mint so I passed those samples along to a friend of mine for her input. Here is what we think:
We both enjoyed the packaging. It comes in single serving sizes in a box. I liked the graphics. I could easily tell what was in the drink. The package contains a lot of information on it. I love the straw. It’s sturdy and extends deep into the package. There is no glass or bottles to worry about leaking, very portable. The size also is 1 serving size-8 ounces-perfect.
Taste of the Original: I have to admit that I was concerned before tasting it that it would be chalky and dry. Neither is true. It is an enjoyable beverage drunk nice and cold. It was smooth and easy to drink. It had a nice chocolately taste and feel.
Taste of the Mint: – I liked the hot/cold options. It was suggested on the label to try drinking it both ways, and I enjoyed both of them.
– It’s just the right amount of mint flavor, not overwhelming or overpowering, and it went well with the dark chocolate taste of the drink. Sometimes flavor blends tend to go far in one direction or the other, but this tasted balanced to me. ( from my mint taster!)
We both agree that it’s nice to have another option available that’s dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free for us that have sensitivities to these allergens. We both would purchase this product.
Currently Mayesa is available in stores in California, Arizona, Texas and Massachusetts! Well, I’m from New York, but I can still order online HERE!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
