Project Me: Scrapbooking
I just want to let you all know that I’ve been sick for almost 2 weeks now. My head is going to explode and my blog blows, I know. I have only been able to do the minimum. So pardon me. But, today I want to talk about another aspect of Project Me – scrapbooking. One of my goals for the year has been to catch up on my scrapbooking. I’ve made it my goal to complete 1 scrapbook a month. I just made it for January. I was up till midnight finishing, but I did it. This month is going to be another squeeze. It took me awhile to organize my photos. I’m sure it will be another last minute squeeze. Thanks okay as long as I finish.
Here is why this is important to me: I honestly worry about todays kids and what they will have in terms of memories when they get older. We take pictures on our phones, post them on Facebook and where else do they go. Do you print any? How about our cameras? Yes, the digital age is awesome, but where do these images go? On your computer? Do you print them? When you print them are you printing them yourself on your printer? Are they going to last? Maybe I’m a little extreme, but I photograph everything. I can show my guys the first time they ate solid food in print. They love looking at pictures of themselves when they were just little guys! I find it such an important part of life to remember the past.
Now here is my disclosure: I am not one of those over achieving moms that scrapbook with all the bells and whistles. I cut little borders with my fancy scissors and then glue them down. That’s about it. I’m not writing corny stuff and making fancy things with paper. I don’t have the time for all of that. I just want to chronicle my children’s life as easy as possible. Photos are important to me and that’s why they are a part of my project. I hope I’ve given you something to think about today. How are you preserving your memories?

So this reminded me, I used to copy a minimum of 20 pics a month…so that I always had some hard copies…I need to start doing that again. There is no way in a million years I could do one scrapbook a month, but I am sooooo behind, I think I will start working on them again and maybe commit to doing 3 layouts a week or something…thanks for the thoughts…I have been totally sick too, this is the most brutal cold I have had in a couple of years, I feel your pain. Get well! xxoo

I got some digital scrapbooking software to try and put together a digital scrapbook of all my childhood photos and it’s still a project that’s gathering dust on my shelf. I have to scan all the pics and blah blah blah…
Can’t wait to see how you’re progressing toward your goal!
