I’m hoping to be attending my first blog conference this Summer and I’m starting to plan. Hopefully I’ll be able to find some sponsors to help me foot the bill, but once I’m there it’s all about me. I need to redesign my business cardsbecause I am not happy with the ones I currently own. When you attend any blogger event or party that’s when you have an opportunity to network with not only other bloggers, but with PR representatives. Having a good card with a great design is vital to getting you noticed and remembered. I have gotten several fantastic opportunities from people that I have networked with and shared my card. Honestly I need to hand it out more often. Last week the cashier at the grocery store was so impressed with all my coupons she asked me where I got them all. When I told her that I have a blog, and while it’s not about couponing in general I do share special offers and have giveaways. Instead of offering her my card she had to ask me for it. I was so glad to have them in my purse. It was also a huge lesson to me about never missing an opportunity to market myself.
The fact that I’m satisfied with my current business card doesn’t help either. So, I’m going to be taking some time a designing a new card over at Tiny Prints. Tiny Prints business cards make a great first impression. You can add your personal photos, logos, and design accents to a variety of unique business card formats. Looking at their page of cards I was inspired my all their options, I’m going to really have to think about this one. They also have different sized cards which I think might actually be quite the novelty in the blogging business.
