Well, here I go again. It’s no secret that some of us moms love cocktails, so can you imagine my surprise when I found out that June 19Th is National Martini Day! I’m always up for celebrating and this time Bulldog British Dry Gin came to the rescue. Honestly, I’m not a gin drinker, but I’m always up for a good try and tell. Here is the scoop so far: Bulldog British Dry gin is distilled from 100% grain neutral spirit. It’s imported from England and is about 40% alcohol. 80proof. My first thought is that it smells good from the bottle. It must have something to do with the fact that it is the only gin in the world to be infused with an exotic melange of botanicals that includes lavender, lotus leaves, and dragon eye. The last time gin passed my way it smelled like something I would clean the floors with so I was surprised that it smelled good. The taste was also surprisingly smooth. Now don’t get me wrong at first sip I shook alot as if I were having spasms. ( Keep in mind the not a gin drinker part) Then it eventually went down smooth. What did I make? A martini of course! Here is the recipe: ( It’s a dirty one!)
Dirty BULLDOG Martini
2 oz.Bulldog Gin
1 tbsp. dry vermouth
2 tbsp. olive juice
3 olives for garnish
Place an ice cube and a small amount of water in a cocktail glass and place in freezer for 2-3minutes. Fill a mixer with all ingredients including garnish. Cover and shake hard. Remove cocktail glass from freezer and empty water. Strain contents of the mixer into the cocktail glass. Place olives on a toothpick to garnish. Serves 1.
Checkout Bulldog Gin on their website and on Facebook for more information.
As for me:
I think I’m done for the night after this one. I wish you all a happy martini day and I look forward to celebrating this Summer by bringing you more cocktail recipes!

Not sure anything will get me to cheat on Tanqueray, but I can always substitute the recipe with it! 😉
