Who would have thought? I know I didn’t. I’m not a creative genious in the kitchen by any means, but I never even thought about grilling cabbage until I got a recipe at our farm. Not only is cabbage usually inexpensive, but it’s good for you, too! We tried this dish this weekend and it was a hit. It’s easy as well, just like the grilled zucchini dish I shared with you. Give it a try and let me know what you think about it!
The Ingredients:
1 large head of cabbage, cored and cut into 8 wedges
8 teaspoons Butter ( I didn’t have any so I drizzled a little olive oil on mine)
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or to taste ( I used more- love garlic!)
1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper or to taste.
Preheat grill on medium heat for about 15 minutes. Arrange wedges into the bottom of a large metal baking dish. Place a teaspoon of butter on each wedge.
Season liberally with garlic powder, seasoned salt, and pepper. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Place on preheated grill: cook till cabbage is tender about 30 minutes.
Enjoy as side dish at any barbeque! Let me know what you do with cabbage besides boiling it or making cole slaw. I’m always looking for something new to try.
