Sometimes I am scared of Zombies is the perfect book for this time of year. I just read this book to my guys last night and they really got a kick out of it. Exclusivly available at Amazon.com “Sometimes I am scared of Zombies: is the story of a boy that gets scared after watching a zombie movie with his parents. Released just in time for Halloween this book teaches kids that zombies are not real and they don’t have to be afraid. It is interactive in the fact that it asks the reader questions about what they are afraid and then asks them to draw pictures. This gives the child a chance to explore their own fears.
My boys 8 and 6 enjoyed the story and actively answered the questions. It gave me the opportunity to have a talk with them about their fears. It was a great bonding moment for us and I learned quite a bit about them. This is the perfect book to help have that conversation with your children. Here is some information about the author:
Rob Fox is also the author of the adult zombie novel “Z Day is Here” and numerous short stories including “Recess” and “No More Forgiveness.” His first screenplay, “Ace the Zombie,” won numerous film festival awards, and his serial killer script “A Man in Desperation” will start filming in 2013. “Sometimes I am Scared of Zombies” is his first children’s book. “I want kids to enjoy the horror genre without being scared,” said Rob, who explained that he decided to write the book because he thought other horror books for kids were too frightening. “When I would read other horror books to kids, they would get scared by the pictures and content. My goal was to have a cartoon-y look with a positive message that would appeal to the right age group.”
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review. All thoughts are my own and my childrens.
