Once again Aflac is teaming up with Macy’s to help in the fight against pediatric cancer. Now your purchase of the Aflac duck at Macy’s willhelp make a difference in a child’s life. 100% of the proceeds are donated to over 50 hospitals that treat and research pediatric cancer. Now that’s a sticking stuffer that gives more than your child will ever know. When my duck arrived at my home, my son’s eyes lit up with joy. We laughed as he squeezed it and it gave it’s Aflac quack. When I told him that having this duck will help other boys and girls that are sick he felt honored to own one. This is a perfect opportunity to teach your child about giving back at the holidays. You rarely see a product where 100% of the proceeds actually go to the charity. This is it. Since it’s first sale in 2001, sales of the Aflac duck have raised over 3 million dollars that go towards a facility close to the location of where the duck was purchased.
This year, Aflac held a contest among the patients at the Aflac Cancer Center in Atlanta to determine who would design the 2012 Holiday Duck. Sixteen year-old Monica Sandoval, from Winder, GA, was the winner. Monica, who has battled leukemia for 4 years, is thrilled to have had her design selected and hopes that everyone will be inspired to purchase the 2012 duck to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer.
