* I received a box of cookies to review from The Cookie Girl Store. All thoughts and yummy crumbs belong to me!*
I’ll tell you all about The Cookie Girl Store in a moment, but I can’t wait to tell you about the cookies themselves! First of all when I got this beautifully wrapped box I melted. Presentation is everything and I thought this was so simple and beautiful, but then it happened. I opened the box. I was blown away by the sweet scent of cookies. After I reached in and pulled back the tissue paper I realized that each of these cookies were individually wrapped. How could that sweet smell come through? I could wait to give them a try. Here is the scoop on the Motherhood Cookies:
The Motherhood Cookie:
Let me tell you a bit about these cookies designed for mom’s. The Cookie Girl Store offers a variety of Lactation Cookies and Morning Sickness Remedy Cookies. The lactation cookie has special ingredients that help improve milk supply. Some mom’s need to eat just one cookie a day to notice and difference while others need four. The Morning Sickness Remedy Cookies contain ingredients that are know to curb nausea. Since I am neither lactating or pregnant I can only review based on taste.
My Tasting:
Chocolate Chip (Lactation Cookie): Looks soft, but is a crunchy cookie. Nice consistency of chips to cookie and yummy to boot. Dunk this in a glass of milk and you are all set.
Lavender Shortbread (Morning Sickness): Just looking at this cookie I thought it would be my favorite. It was light and airy. The perfect cookie, if only another hadn’t stolen the show.
Almond Apricot (Heartburn/Reflux): I did not want to try this cookie. I’m not a fan of apricot, but I made the commitment so I tried it. My favorite cookie by far! I could have eaten a million of these. Chewy, and crunchy! I love the consistency as well as the taste of the cookie. I was surprised.
My Thoughts:
Whether or not these cookies can actually do what they claim these are awesome gift items for anyone pregnant or that just had a baby. They were delivered beautifully and if you don’t eat them right away they can be frozen. I received so many flowers when I was pregnant and after delivery that this would have been a thoughtful surprise. These are definitely on my list for gift items. Now, The Cookie Girl Store doesn’t only carry Motherhood cookies they have an entire line of cookies to match any event. I highly recommend that you give them a try.
About The Cookie Girl:
Pastry chef Zoë Klasel founded The Cookie Girl in her Houston kitchen in November 2009. By September 2010, she realized the need for commercial kitchen space and to add more employees!
Known by friends and even strangers as The Cookie Girl, Zoë learned to bake as soon as she could see over the counter in her Aunt Twing’s kitchen.
She earned her degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, and honed her skills as the pastry chef at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, and later at Carrie’s Kitchen, a bakery in Tomball, Texas.
Her stellar reputation and extensive ties to the wedding industry helped her land a position as a catering and event sales director at another Houston-area country club, where her main job was to help couples customize their dream weddings.
But she’s best known for her buttery sugar cookies carefully piped with sweet icing, which are a centerpiece at every family function. She had so many requests for custom orders, she decided to take everyone’s advice and turn her hobby into a business.
Why cookies? Because each new shape is a new opportunity to create something unique and individual.
“It lets me be creative,” Zoë says. “And if it doesn’t turn out right, I can just eat it.”

I’m wondering if the heartburn/reflux cookie really works.
The Cookie Girl says
They seem to work for most people who have mild to moderate reflux. For the middle-of-the-night-9-months-pregnant reflux, it made it not quite as miserable, but didn’t make it go away.
Hope this answers your question!

Loved the Almond/ apricot cookie! Wish I had a whole box of those.. The lavender was good but I wanted some frosting on top.
