It seems as if I haven’t written this post in a while! This has been a busy Summer for me and I’m actually happy about it. The kids have been home and we’ve been out and about. My oldest is going to be starting cooking camp tomorrow and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it goes well. I’m not a fan of full day camp and I’m going to miss him. This mom needs to let go a little bit, huh.I think I need to let go of a few things like ever catching up or having things on a perfect schedule. Something always comes up. My little guy will be starting his third year in Football and this week, too. He promises not to cry this year-LOL! Here is a peek at my week.
This Week I Learned That:
10. if I pay attention, my kids teach me lessons everyday. ( I once thought it was only sometimes, but I honestly learn something from each of them every single day.)
9. I don’t like it when people talk to my kids like they are 2 years old. ( You can speak to them like you speak to me. They are awesome boys at 7 and 9.)
8. kindness is contagious. ( Thank you to the nice lady at the book fair that gave my boys $1 to buy candy. She told them, “Someday you’ll do it for someone else. Pay it forward.”
7. you need to constantly emphasis eating local to your kids over TV commercials of chain restaurants or fast food. ( It’s so annoying. My kids will want to eat at Olive Garden because they saw a commercial. It’s worth having a conversation with your kids when you are a local establishment and explain to them what it means to support that owner. My guys get it.)
6. I have a hard time dealing with someone when they have a “know it all” mentality. ( Thanks for telling me the obvious. I don’t know how I made it this far in life without my hand being held.)
5. my cholesterol ,although in the normal range, borders on high. ( I eat well and exercise 5 days a week. Maybe there is something to this genetics things?)
4. my armpits smell horrible. ( I swear my hormones are screwed up or something because this shit’s bad.)
3. it seems that most moms don’t get a good nights sleep. ( We are always online talking about not sleeping. It must be all that stress, worry and guilt we carry around. sigh)
2. my son is on the “cusp” of puberty. ( That’s all I’ll say because I promised to preserve his privacy. At 9 almost 10 I’m not ready for this game.)
1. competition is both necessary and ugly. ( It makes some people try harder, but it also makes some people play dirty. Why can’t we all just play nice?)

I’m not a Mom, but I am a lifelong insomniac, so I can relate to the no sleep thing for sure! And as for the armpits thing, I think deodorant is like shampoo, you just have to switch up sometimes, I had to do it this summer myself and it’s helping so far! ๐

True for me too- I’ve always had problems sleeping then after I became a mom it got worse. I blame it on having to wake up early and get the kids ready- LOL!
