If you know me at all you know I can’t resist a challenge, so I accepted this one from ZonePerfect. Throughout the year ZonePerfect will send me challenges to complete and since I’m a fan of their products I said, “Yes!” My first challenge is to write down my New Years Resolutions and write a letter to my future self encouraging me to go on. I have to say I don’t do resolutions. Resolutions always seem to get broken so I’m going to call my list here “Future Goals”. That sits much better with me. Here we go!
Goals for 2014:
1. I want to find a way to keep my house clean, homeschool, blog and have a life all at the same time. Sure, this is going to be tough, but somehow I can do this one. I just know I can. If I figure it out I will certainly be sharing this one.
2. I want to eat and feed my family better. Most of the time I do great job, but I know I can do better. My youngest (7) is a vegetarian and I would love to be one with him as well. This is a hard one. I do however like that ZonePerfect nutrition bars are a quick grab and go snack option. I sat through many of the kids events munching on one of these bars!
3. Exercise, exercise, exercise! This has been a battle for me since the Summer. I had a great thing going then it got hot, next my son broke his arm and finally we chose to homeschool. I’m still trying to fit everything in and this has been hit or miss. The one thing I do know is that I feel better about myself when I exercise. My goal is to make exercise like breathing – I need to do it to survive!
4. Starting a new blog is something I’ve been putting together for months. I want to launch a new blog soon, but I need to be sure I can pull it off. Or do I just go for it? Hmmmmm. I want this!
5. Learn how to use all the features on my camera. The husband bought me the camera of dreams and I still have yet to give it the time it deserves. I think I would be happier if I gave in to a creative outlet that didn’t involve a glue stick and glitter-LOL!
I could go on, but just writing this down has been overwhelming. Can someone truly pull all of this off in a year? Can I achieve the change I’m looking for in my life? I suppose we will see. Baby steps right?
Letter To Myself:
First you need to remember that just because you fell off the horse doesn’t mean you can’t get back on! You can do this! You are worth this! IF you are still struggling with finding organization in your life remember it’s a process. Rome wasn’t built-in a day and neither will your empire. Just show up and do the best you can. Dance is exercise do what makes you feel good and don’t forget to fuel your body with nutritious food. These are goals worth having and your family deserves to have the best you possible.
You can do it – ME!!!!!!!
Disclosure: Although I have entered the program and received complimentary product and ZonePerfect promotional items, I am free to comment about ZonePerfect in a positive, neutral or negative fashion. All thoughts are my own!

We’ve got some of the same resolutions! It seems like it all comes down to managing time wisely so we can accomplish the goals that are important to us. It’s so easy to get distracted!
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I don’t know if I have any goals this year necessarily, but I would definitley like to try to cook more and keep the house picked up more.
Allyson Zea says
I really like that you took the time to write out these goals! I think it will help you be accountable! These are definitely realistic too, which is the most important thing when setting goals! Good luck!

Sounds like we are very similar! I have the same goal to still have some sort of life while blogging, homeschooling and and keeping the house in order!

Sandra says
If you ever figure out #1 will you please email me the direct link to that post?! LOL! I need that!
Pam says
These are great goals. My daughter prefers to eat a mainly vegetarian diet, which has always been hard because of her food allergies…and the fact that the rest of the family likes meat!
Debbie L. says
Good goals…all worth working for. Good luck on all of them. The hard one for me is the exercise exercise exercise! I want to – but it is so hard for me to stay on track.
Helene Cohen Bludman says
I think it’s great to write down your goals. There’s a lot to be said for having a visual reminder of what you’ve set out to do. Good luck!

I love this! You’re right, if you fall off the wagon, you can totally get back on. Sometimes when I try to completely change a routine, I may get discouraged but it’s about taking small steps. I love that the zone perfect bars help you stay on track.

Great goals for this year. My family also wants to improve our diet. We have also been getting more active. My daughter and I would like to run some 5Ks. I would also like to grow my blog.
Wendy @ ABCs and Garden Peas says
I’m actually working on cutting back on goals. I’m a chronic goal setter, to the point where all I do is beat myself up for not meeting all 8958473 of them. It’s not a good way to live, but I’m working on it.
Janeane Davis says
It is always fun tobe part of a challenge beause oftent eh competitive nature of a challenge forces us to do what needs doing. I wish you success in your new challenges.
Lisa says
I’m working on #2 myself.
Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says
I definitely need to get back on my exercise train. I do so well but then a vacation or something throws me off the routine. I’m such a creature of habit that things derail me when I can’t do my routine.
Carlee C says
I have fallen off that horse as well, but I want to do better. If you figure out the secret to ” keeping your house clean”, let me know. I have 3 kids, and so far it hasn’t happened. 🙂
Danielle says
I say, so long as you pace yourself and remember to keep time for yourself too, you can accomplish these 😉 Dance is one of the best forms of exercise there is! Then again, being a dancer, I may be a bit biased on that one…
Elizabeth @ Food Ramblings says
So many of these resonate with me…especially learning how to really use my camera!
Mama to 5 Blessings says
what a great idea! I have a long list myself!
Amanda Love says
Great challenge and I love future goals than resolutions as well. Just like you I want to learn all the features of my camera. I usually just stay in auto mode. Gotta find some self-help courses on it.
