As a busy mom of two boys I’m always looking for food to keep on hand in case I can’t make a home cooked meal. I have a few go to items that I purchase, but I was excited to give Old El Paso Frozen Entrees a try. I use their products for taco night, nachos, and other yummy makings for my family. I was curious to see how their frozen entrees would rate.
The Review:
The first item we tried were the Old El Paso Chicken Enchiladas. I served them up with a side southwestern style corn. The packages contain 2 entrees only so my husband and I tried these together. I cooked these in the oven and I might have left in a bit too long. My husband loved them. He said that if was served this dish in a restaurant he would be happy. I also thought they were yummy, but wished they looked better. Although, my husband pointed out the fact that this is what they would look like if we did order them out. I would buy these again.
My husband and son tried the Old El Paso Chicken Fajitas. All you need to add are tortillas and these babies are ready to go. I tried a spoonful and once again I’m a fan. A quick meal in a fix. I wish this product had more veggies, but it made two plentiful servings . Both my son and husband agreed they would like to have this again. My favorite Old El Paso item was the Chicken Quesadillas. We tried steak as well, but I’m more of a chicken person. Both the steak and chicken quesadillas cooked up nice in the microwave. Talk about fast! I was impressed that the quesadilla did not get soggy and that made a huge difference for me.
Old El Paso also makes Burritos for a frozen entree. I did not try these yet. I wish that Old El Paso made these products using just beans or vegetables. My youngest son is a vegetarian and missed out on trying these products. These products are also packaged for 2 servings. I hope that someday they might increase their line to also include family packages. We were happy with this product. Old El Paso products can be found in the freezer aisle of your grocery store. I’ve tried the fajitas and the chicken burritos. I really like the burritos. The fajitas were so-so for me. Hubs liked the fajitas more than the burritos though. What a wonderfully odd couple we are! LOL
