Well, way back in February I posted a list of goals that I had for the year. ZonePerfcet has challenged a few bloggers to Blog Forward and live a healthier lifestyle. Today, they wanted to check in with me about my progress. In my first post I talked about trying to fit in exercise and feed my family healthier options. Our lifestyle this year has changed so I’m still trying to work on balancing blogging, homeshooling and everything else that life has to offer. In the few months since my post I have figured a few things out. I have been able to lose 6 pounds and successfully keep it off. Exercise still is hit or miss,, but I’m getting better at making it a priority. I’m buying more organics and making better choices when we eat out. It doesn’t always have to be a splurge. When I’m out shopping or anytime I know I’ll be out of the house and tempted to snack I make sure I grab a Zone Perfect bar. The calories are low, the protein is high and there are so many flavors to choose from that it keeps me satisfied.
The sad part about looking back at my goals is that a few of them I have barely touched upon. I still haven’t figured out all the settings on my camera nor have I launched my new blog. The later I have worked on a bit and I hope to be able to launch something soon. Writing things down and taking a look back is important. I remember how I felt when I wrote those goals and now feel encouraged to move forward with them even more. How are your goals for the New Year? Have you thought about them lately? I’d love for you to share.
Here are a few swaps that have helped me on my journey to a better me. Click on the image to print!

I…um…believe that goals can get broken, so I didn’t make a list, but I keep setting goals (like learning how to cartwheel, hula hoop, ect) and achieve them!
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I workout every day. I don’t eat healthy necessarily, so I need to workout to burn those calories.
Debbie L. says
Yes & No – goals are getting done – but not quite as fast as I planned! I seem to be slipping and not as focused as I was at the beginning of the year.
Dee says
I am not big on working out…or dieting. I started doing portion control, lowering calories, and got a treadmill to jumpstart losing those pesky 10 extra pounds from pregnancies. The weight FLEW off and before I knew it I was down 15 pounds. I quit the treadmill about 4-5 weeks into it, but kept up the portion control and have since lost another 6-7 pounds…and am keeping it off. 🙂

I didn’t really set any New Year’s goals, but at the beginning of the year my husband and I both decided we wanted to start a new blog together. We finally got started on that last week.
Congrats on keeping those 6 pounds off!

I didn’t really set any goals in 2014.
I love that you are feeling reinspired to tackle your list again, though. That is really good.

Yes, I have. I gave up soda, drink almost only water, and walk much more.

I love the idea of a “swaption” cheat sheet! Having health alternatives easily accessible (and knowing what’s a good swap) would make a big difference at meal time for me!

It is funny how some goals never get done, I think if you break your goals into smaller ones you might be able to accomplish them better. I too need to learn more about my cameral.

As far as losing weight, I have done pretty well. But I also meant to read more this year and haven’t finished a book yet. I need to get on that.

This is so wonderful that you decided to take this challenge! I hope my post I shared in the Team Blogging group helped with exercise ideas for right at home in your daily tasks. I can only imagine how busy you are with homeschooling, blogging and being a mom and wife (if you are one). I love hearing that people are trying to live a healthier lifestyle though. So awesome!

I don’t set goals for myself, that way I won’t be disappointed when I don’t achieve them. I live each day to it’s fullest and appreciate every day.
