Way back in January, I created a list of goals that I wanted to focus on throughout the year. It was part of a challenge put together by ZonePerfect. I was asked back in May for an update and now again. I also published a letter to myself on that very first post. Today as I read my letter I decided to print it. I’m a visual person and having written what I did, I feel as if I need to remind myself of those words everyday in some way. Looking back at that post and then again at my May update I’m feeling confident that I’m on the right track. Life changes quickly and as it does so can your goals. Here is my update:
Goals and Progress:
1. I want to find a way to keep my house clean, homeschool, blog and have a life all at the same time.
Progress: Still working on this one! I have my highs and lows. I have a feeling this one is going to be in a constant state of change.
2. I want to eat and feed my family better.
Progress: I got this one. This wasn’t a big challenge for me, but I have fine tuned the art of fresh home cooked meals more and more. The fact that we have a garden and chickens laying eggs has helped. My son even threw out the school lunch menu and said, “I won’t be eating that processed fake food.” SCORE! I’ve also been making lunches for my husband to keep him on track. He loves having a ZonePerfect bar or 2 throughout the day. ( So do I!) They have plenty of protein and are a great healthy snack on the go.
3. Exercise, exercise, exercise!
Progress: I’m proud of myself with this one. Even in the worst heat with no air conditioner I worked out. My body feels great and I’m sleeping well when I do. I still can’t believe that I’m sticking with it.
4. Starting a new blog is something Iโve been putting together for months.
Progress: I changed my mind. It took some time for me to be okay with that choice, but I am. I’m in the process now of a redesign and I’m thrilled.
5. Learn how to use all the features on my camera.
Progress: I actually learned some! I still need to do more work, but at least I started to do this for myself.

I don’t make goals for the new year…I make them year round ๐ One of my “big” ones is weightloss/healthy eating. well, not so much losing pounds as I want to build muscle (which means less weight lost). My goal is to be fit, not necessarily thin, but to have my excess fat disappear ๐ Healthy eating? um…. Hubs & I has agreed to just have junk food on the weekends, but that’s gone downhill with the stress of buying the house & my work sched. Oops. Time to get back on track! But I love Zone Perfect-when I was preggo w/#3, I had pnuemonia, but they couldn’t put me on the regular meds to get ri of it b/c I was preggo. Anyways, one of the meds I was on took away my apetite, so I’d eat these so I made sure the baby was getting nutition!
