Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved for Xbox360 #Review

December 21, 2014 By Milena Barrett

New on the market in the land of Xbox360 with Kinect is Disney’s Fantasia: Music Evolved. My family and I were sent a copy to try out and I can honestly tell you I was pleasantly surprised.

Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved – Xbox 360 gives you the player a chance to perform some of your favorite songs by popular artists while using natural hand movements. You will be able to control the musical flow of each song and unlock the power to transform music in new and different ways. There are different worlds with hidden musical interactions. Fantasia lets you explore breathtaking environments that are all controlled by your movements.

Before I received my review copy I checked it out online and I wasn’t too sure that my kids would enjoy it. The game is suggested for everyone 10 and up. My oldest will be 11 in a few days and my youngest is 8 1/2. I had nothing to lose by letting them give it a go. Here is how it went……

The Review:

As the game began the players were asked to enter the magical realm of Fantasia selected by the legendary sorcerer Yen Sid to hone their musical and magical prowess as his new apprentice. I sat back hesitant as to how much fun this would really be for the kids. Well, my first impression was so wrong. My boys found it challenging, fun and even a workout. It’s not easy at all. I had to jump in and give it a try. It was hard to walk away for it. I was pleasantly surprised at how much this game was for all of us. The variety of music is splendid. We played classical pieces as well as the Police and Queen. It truly is a game that a family can play and challenge each other. I like how it kept the kids moving and interactive instead of just pushing buttons.

Take a Quick Peek:

My son can be a little dramatic, but this gives you a good idea of what the game is actually like when you are playing. If you have a gamer that loves music this would be the perfect gift. On second thought, if you have a gamer that needs to get up and moving, but they aren’t into the entire dancing thing this is a great option. It’s fun, competitive yet beautiful. We love it!

Disclosure: I received a review copy and promotional materials in hopes for a review. All reviews are always honest and my own.

Games that get the kids moving are a big win for me. Ones that involve a subject they love (Disney) ensure they’ll want to continue to play!

This looks fun! I think my kids would love it but they might be a little young. I love using our Kinect for games so they get off their little butts and move!
