* Disclosure: Be Your Best Mom Contributing Writer Jen Markwerth received this product compliments of Vocalpoint and InStyler. All thoughts belong to her.*

I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to try out the InStyler Ionic Styler Pro Ionic Hot Brush and Ceramic Flat Iron, Purple
. I have long hair that never holds a curl with the exception of a wave or two here and there. My daughter and I were super excited after just getting over that awful stage of growing out our bangs to have new styling new tool. We both have very long straight hair with medium thickness that never holds a curl no matter how much product you put in. So being able to try out this cool new Hot Brush/Flat iron combo was the highlight of our weekend.

The Review:

We first loved that we did not need a brush. “How cool is that!” said my daughter who never wants to brush her hair! She was actually brushing and styling her hair all at once. I enjoyed being able to give the crown of my head some volume by following the instructions provided inside the package. I thought the enclosed booklet of styling options was helpful along with the do’s and don’ts and product care. As an added bonus there was a traveling bag as well.

The iron heated up pretty quickly once it was turned on and has an indicator light to let you know when it is ready. There are only two temperature settings; some of my other hot irons have had more options in temperature control. The lock button was a problem for us as we found it very hard to slide back and forth. The swivel cord is a huge plus, in not having to deal with tangled cords.

I had no problems with the bristles getting tangled in my hair and the brush ran smoothly through my hair. In no time I had my entire head smooth and silky looking. My daughter uses this brush everyday now before school and loves it. I never thought I would see the day when she would use anything but a hair dryer and a regular brush. She is a no frills kind of girl when it comes to her hair, but this brush/flat-iron combo has given her new views on styling her hair. She said it all about being easy to use. She too loves how quick and simple it is to achieve a smooth straight finish to her hair in no time. She is right; I have cut my hair routine time in half by using this brush/flat-iron combo. We were able to give our neighbors a chance to try it out one evening and both of them loved it just as much as we did. They are ready to buy their own InStyler’s Ionic Sytler Pro Ceramic Hot Brush and Flat Iron with Cool Touch Ionic Bristles. So from four women of various ages and hair types we all agree we seriously loved this In Styler’s product.

I live in Upstate New York in the most fantastic town. I am a mother of two amazing girls ages 10 & 8. My girls keep me moving and active with being a sports mom. I love to cook and cruise food blogs. Pinterest has given me tons of ideas . Oh and YES I have made things from Pinterest not just pinned! I enjoy reading Blogs on mommy stuff and laughing along knowing I am not the only one out there who has had that done or feel that way. Now that my oldest is entering middle school and puberty is fast approaching any blogs with wise words on how to get through the next years of attitude are the holy grail! Lucky for me I work at our local high school and have been hearing the inside scoop direct from the students. Life just keeps moving forward and getting better.

Still using this. Love it but did find just one more thing that could use a touch up from company. The on/off temp control is right where I hold wand and it slips off so easy, compared to the lock slide, which I feel like I need to get a power tool out to unlock.

I have this as well. I don’t use it that often but I’m also a “throw my hair in a ponytail and go” kinda gal! But I do like it when I use it.

I really agree that it’s all about how easy it is to use! Not having to manage a hair brush while using this would make it much less awkward for me!

I always wondered about this product, you never know from the commercials if these things really work. Judging from your pictures it did a good job.
