First off I have to say that it really sucks when I lose my “10 Things I Learned” list that I have been writing all week. I have been trying to organize and maybe things got way out of control and I threw away my paper. So, for now I’m scrapping the week and going with what has happened in the last 48 hours. A lot can happen in 48 hours and lessons are being learned right now as I type.
I learned that:
10. while I think I have superior organizing skills I truly don’t. ( That would explain my loss of paper. Average, average skills all the way over here.)
9. even though I set goals for myself this year I need to re-evaluate them in order to achieve them. ( I was reminded that keeping a goal check list and adding to it or taking away from it can greatly improve your chances for success.)
8. taking it one day at time works to relive stress. ( When I look at my calendar sometimes I think my head might explode and then I lose some sleep. Focusing on that one day helps so much.)
7. not everything needs to be a big deal. ( Things like last-minute playdates, schedule changes, etc would throw me into a panic. Now, I realize that feeding kids a pizza, not having a clean house, or having to run around unexpectedly is just part of living.)
6. there is no such thing as a “normal” week. ( What is normal anyway?)
5. when there simply is no drama some people find the need to create it. ( I am so on to you. Hopefully other people will see what you are really made of too.)
4. I can’t be in two places at once and that’s okay. (People might think I’m dropping the ball here and there when all I’m really doing is bouncing it. )
3. everyone needs a day to just do nothing. ( I don’t know how people can function without having a real day off. A sweatpants, drink a beer, eat bad food, and watch a good movie or two kind of day. Ah……I just had one and it was awesome!)
2. I just don’t get the point of Snapchat nor do I like it much. ( Maybe it’s just because I’m new to it, but it just seems pointless. I’ll give it a little more time. Tips for awesomeness would be appreciated.)
1. there is beauty in the everyday stuff. There are opportunities for something worthwhile at every corner and during every challenge. ( Don’t just walk through life. Live it! Even if living it means carpooling and dish washing, these things have great value I swear!)

I agree with all of your lessons. I need to heed this advice – like take a day off and not everything is a big deal. Love this!

my kids are obsessed with snap chat and I think it is a selfie site. I guess I am too very new to it.

Disorganization is my Kryptonite! I enjoyed reading your list and whole-heartedly agree with all your points.

Love these lessons! As I get older, I think I am better with the taking one day at a time lesson. I used to think I needed to do it all and all at once. So glad you seem to be relaxing and enjoying life.

I don’t get snapchat either! I guess it’s not my thing – just don’t see the point in it…I have also learned lately, that life is so less stressful when you take it one day at a time.

Taking things a day at a time really is key! It helps me so much when I’m feeling overwhelmed.

I’m with you on Snap Chat, I saw some bloggers sharing their snaps and I’m like, that is so staged…..not real life at all….it’s like those you tubers, trying to get viewers….I’m still not convinced it’s a good platform!
