Garden of Life:
I fell in love with Garden of Life products about a year ago when I was first introduced to the brand at a conference. They not only care about what goes into their products, but what doesn’t go in! Clean and whole ingredients are the basis of each product. Recently, I was able to review Dr. Formulated Relax & Restore and in it I found another one of their products to love!
Dr. Formulated Relax & Restore:
So what is it?
- Whole Food Magnesium
- Made Using USA-grown Organic Peas
- 350mg Magnesium
- Contains Live Probiotics—1 Billion CFU
- Fizzy Drink Before Bedtime
I know, as a mom, I have a hard time sleeping. So many of us do and it’s because of stress and anxiety. I’m anxious and irritable throughout the day because of it. I’ve read a few articles about magnesium and how the lack of this mineral can cause these symptoms. Most Americans are consuming less than ideal amounts of magnesium in their diets. As a trace mineral it ranks as one of the most important as it facilitates the function of over 300 critical enzymes. Magnesium levels are correlated with many health-related issues.
Signs of magnesium deficiency involve all the body’s major systems and include: Irritability, Anxiety, Lethargy, Fatigue, Memory problems, Anorexia, Loss of Appetite, Seizures, Muscle Weakness, Muscle cramps, Tremors, Vertigo, Difficulty swallowing, and Irregular or rapid heartbeat.
My Thoughts:
Well, I have to say at first I was surprised when I opened the container to find it half full. When I read the label and realized that the product weight was 6.9 ounces it made sense. I’m not sure why the product needs a container twice the size. Maybe it has to do with the contents of the ingredients, but that is only a guess. I wanted to try this product because I just can’t a good nights sleep. There are many times that I wake up at night because my heart is racing with anxiety. I don’t want to take prescription meds so I’ve been searching for something to help. I think I have found it with Dr. Formulated Relax & Restore. I have been sleeping so well since I started drinking it! This morning I didn’t even hear my husbands alarm go off AND my alarm actually woke me up!
I’ve been drinking the Orange Dreamsicle flavor. The product comes in three flavors the Orange Dreamsicle, Raspberry Lemon, and Original Stevia Free. As you can see from my photo, you need to mix it really well to get all the clumps out. The taste is fine, but not fantastic. It does take some getting used to, but so worth it for the results that I’m getting! You only need to mix one teaspoon with 8 ounces of water so it’s easy to drink right away. So, am I more relaxed? I’d say yes, since I’m getting plenty of sleep. The product also states that it can help you be more regular. While I don’t have any issues in this area, the amount of probiotics in this product is a perfect mix for my belly. I wake up and don’t have any of the bloated and weighty feelings that I usually can have in the mornings. Regularity? Yes! So, much so that somehow I lost 3 pounds! I feel great! I plan on keeping this as a regular part of my routine.

Sounds interesting for sure. I am always taken back when a container is only half filled. Surely it does have something to do with the product needing air space.

I have not heard of this, I also struggle with sleep . Magnesium is supposed to help with thyroid issues as well. Where did you get it? I would be very curious to try . Is there any after taste? Thanks for sharing this, so happy you have had success.
Milena Barrett says
You can purchase the product online or at your health food store. No- there is no after-taste! I should have mentioned that because that’ something I would want to know too.
