It’s kind of ironic that I was sent a package filled with Pine Brothers Softish Throat Relief Drops to review and a week later my son comes down with a sore throat! Well, I’m sure glad that I had these on hand. I remember being a child and my mom giving me these when I wasn’t feeling well. They came in a box back then! I had no idea that Pine Brothers has been around for 140 years! I also was no aware of how they compared to other throat drops that are on the market. All I knew back then was that they tasted better than other brands I had been given. Here are something I learned about them since!
About Pine Bros. Softish Throat Relief Drops:
While Pine Brothers can be found in the cough drop aisle, they are NOT a cough drop, but a throat drop. They contain no medicines or questionable ingredients. Pine Brothers throat drops are all natural; glycerin is the active ingredient. Pine Brothers product is also Vegan and Gluten free. That’s something my family and I find important as we try to follow a vegetarian and gluten-free diet in our home. Pine Brothers latest products include Vitamin C Orange and Sugar Free Cherry.
My Thoughts:
Well, first of all it’s tough to try a product if you don’t really need it at the time. While I’m not thrilled that my son got sick it did help in writing this review. My son is 10 and has always hated any cough/throat type drops. They smell and taste like medicine. He can’t stand it. When I came at him with these I was given the look of complete dismay, that is until he tasted them. For the first time he actually didn’t mind sucking on a throat drop. He is also my young vegetarian and he checked the package to make sure that they contained no animal products. None! Another win! While they are softish, the package says they are best not chewed, but need to be left to dissolve slowly. A dosage is 1 to 2 drops. These are tasty so I suggest that you keep them out of reach of children as the package states!
Where to buy:
Sugar Free Cherry can be purchased at Harris Teeter, Harmon, & ShopRite. Vitamin C Orange can be found at Kinney Drug, however both can be found online at www.pinebros.com and at Amazon.com.
Disclosure: I was sent samples in order to facilitate a review. All thought belong to me and my son and have not been influenced.

Wow 140 years is a tried and true recipe! I have not used this brand in a very long time. My son has a chronic cough so these are going on my shopping list right now.
