Saturday night my husband and his dad had a special opportunity to be guest judges for Monster Jam at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. I was so sad to miss it! We have been attending Monster Jam as a family for years now, but I had a fundraising event. They didn’t seem to miss me!
My boys met up with their friends and were able to enjoy the show from the Judges Zone! If you’ve never been before earphones or ear plugs are a must. (Especially for little ears!) We found out that night that not only did we have friends in the crowd, but family as well. I had no idea we knew so many fans of Monster Trucks.
The stage was set and we were ready for a show!
About Monster Jam:
Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, Monster Jam trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.
My husband and his dad were prepped with the other judges on how to score the event. Then the show was on! From what I hear my boys were fully engaged and paid close attention as the trucks came out.
You need to pay close attention because you never know what came happen! This was one of many unexpected accidents that occurred during the show!
My boys didn’t always agree with their dad’s scores! Highest and lowest scores are eliminated. My husband had a great time and I think it added to my kids experience having their dad be a judge. We are so fortunate!
After the show the drivers were available to sign program books! I love that the drivers are available to meet their fans. It adds to the shows appeal and helps fans make a connection to the people driving.
My boys favorite driver……Bailey Shea! She is one of the drivers of the Scooby Doo truck! There are quite a few lady drivers so don’t even think that your daughter won’t enjoy it! Female power in the house!
Here are my two favorite judges of all time! Okay, I’m married to one of them so I might be a bit biased. A good time was had by all. Checkout out Monster Jam with your family in a show close to you! Visit https://www.monsterjam.com/tickets

My boys loved monster jam. The jumps and crushing cars were their favorites. But it was rather loud

Marketing Tip: I hope the souvenir stands had souvenir jars of different flavored jams to sell with the “Monster Jam” logo. The glass jars should be paint-imprinted with images of some of the trucks. The kids would use these fun and memorable souvenirs over and over with their meals as well as tell the story when other kids are over their house and thus it’s a perpetual promotion for Monster Jam! I want one!
