My Thoughts:
One thing that I like for my kitchen appliances to be able to do is to perform more than one task. The Wonder Pot does just that! It cooks rice, soup, stir-fry, bake, steam and stew all in one pot! I tried a few of the features that I would use most.
First I tried to use it as a rice cooker. I love making chili in my slow cooker, but you can’t make rice in it! The Wonder Pot is easy to use and cooks rice perfectly. It doesn’t get dry and stays warm. You need to use the measuring cup provided and follow the instructions included with your pot to get the combination of rice and water correct. This will probably be what I use this pot for most often.
The next feature I tried using was steam. I found the directions a bit confusing. The directions tell you what button to push and how to use the delayed timer, but it doesn’t mention placing water in the pot. When I steam my veggies on the stove top I place water in the pan and my veggies in a steam basket. So, I did the same thing with the Wonder Pot. I placed water in the pot and my veggies in the steamer tray included. My broccoli came out great. You can steam fish and chicken not just vegetables. A quick and easy way to eat healthier!
The last thing I tried was to make soup using a recipe that came with the Cook’s Companion Wonder Pot. The Butternut Squash-Apple Soup was divine! I made a few changes and made it dairy free. Once the ingredients were done cooking I placed them all in my blender and made this delicious creamy concoction!
Final thoughts:
The next things I would like to try is the bake function. That way I can have a nice dessert to go with dinner. I love the fact that I can make things in this pot that I can’t make in my slow cooker. That way I have more options for family meals. The Wonder Pot is not only great for families, but this would be a wonderful gift to for a college student or someone who moves into a new place. It is one of the kitchen appliances that I’m adding to my list for gift giving.

I have heard so much about these types of pots. They really do seem to make getting dinner on the table much easier.
Seems like the Wonder Pot is really a wonder! I have a regular crockpot and it’s great but it doesn’t do all of those cooking techniques. Looks like I might be replacing mine!
