Last week I found myself frustrated several times and dying to just let loose. I try not to make huge rants on Facebook because honestly I get tired of people who constantly complain and also because I didn’t want to hear it. I wanted to vent, not get advice, criticized, or be judged. On the other hand, ranting about others behavior is being judgie. Well, who isn’t at some point? We all have our moments. For the most part I believe that people are good and we all make mistakes. Everyone needs to vent sometimes, but if that’s all that you do maybe you need to reconsider who you let into your life. Wow, lots to think about here as I’m typing…..Anyway, here is some of my worst!
I want to rant about:
10. people who don’t want to read and want things explained to them. ( I’m helping organize a program and once again today I get an email from someone telling me they have the flyer and asked me questions that are all answered if you actually read the flyer. I admit that I am not a hand holder. Just ask my kids what I complain about the most. They would say, “When we get something wrong because we didn’t read the directions.” I will tell you what I tell my kids, “Read, read, and then read it again.” )
9. responsibility. ( If you volunteer for a program you are just as much responsible as if you were getting paid. Show up, work hard, and don’t hesitate to the task. We need volunteers that want to help not just rack up “community service” hours.)
8. unwanted advice. ( Along with this comes judging… I once posted a photo of my kids jumping into the pool and in the background the sky was black with ominous clouds. I received more than one comment saying, “You need to get your kids out of the pool.” Thanks, but it’s a photo and a filter. My kids had one last jump before the storm rolled in. I didn’t need folks telling me to get my kids out of the water. This also happened recently with a photo of me without a ski helmet on. Once again, what you see isn’t always what’s happening.)
7. giving kids false information. ( I recently had and have been having a situation where a teacher is giving her students her opinion (political) as fact. Not cool. The plus part is that I have been covering topics with my son that I might not have in order to show him the truth. He is asking questions and it has been a real bonding time for us. A true gift in disguise.)
6. the game people play called “I’m busier than you are!” ( Hey, I get to rant about feeling overwhelmed even if it is just because I have to get up off the couch to get the remote. Seriously, unless you know someone you have no idea what is happening in their life.)
5. when people comment on a post to get themselves attention. ( Ugh, I stopped feeding the narcissists by not commenting or liking their posts, but somehow they still creep in.)
4. needing to make people feel like they need to apologize all the time. ( Making someone else feel bad does NOT make you a better person or your choices better. I hated hearing this mom apologize for her son being disheveled. I know her story and what it took for her to get where she needed to be and it wasn’t easy. She didn’t need to feel like she had to apologize. She should have gotten a round of applause.)
3. people who work with kids and let them down. ( If you are going to be a leader to a group of children do it with integrity and loyalty. I have recently seen too many people fail at both. I guess it’s time I step up to the task.)
2. the thought that you can get something for nothing. ( NO, I don’t get anything for free by blogging. I get things in exchange for posts and social media shares. Both are work. If you can’t like, share, or even comment on my blog posts please don’t ask me for favors and freebies. It costs me. Supporting me is free for you. People that support me I will do anything for.)
1. when people use age as an excuse for anything! (It is your own fear that keeps you from doing things not your age. Just own it. If you are out of shape it’s not your age. It’s just you. If you are afraid to travel, try a new sport, or food, or activity, it’s you and not your age. Find a new excuse. )
Okay, so I hope you still love me. We all have our moments and trust me, I have been on both sides of these rants. No one is perfect, but we can all try to be more aware of our actions and how they can effect others. I’m feeling beat this week, but I see a comeback in my future.

Preach it and I am clapping for you. That unwanted advice one, I can so relate. I mean what in tarnation are some people thinking in this world? I want to scream sometimes. I don’t because I go one better: I blog and tell the world. And love that you did, too!

All of these resonate with me! A teacher that gives false information?eeek . I’ve had the ” I know better than you” posts… it makes me want to pull out my best arsenal of words and retaliate. I must admit, I am guilty of not reading flyers ?
Love your blog…. I can totally relate!

Unwanted advice drives me CRAZY! If I want advice, I’ll ask for it. Please don’t force it on me! LOL. Great post. I was nodding in agreement all the way through 🙂

I love how you mentioned that a teacher was passing on their political opinion as fact.
We were just having a conversation this morning with our kids about how the media lies to our kids.
We watch a documentary about a plane crash and how there were no survivors and then we saw another documentary of the exact same flight saying that there were survivors and they transformed the plane into a house. UGH!!
