*The crew here at Be Your Best Mom was sent some yummy treats from Otis Spunkmeyer to review. All thoughts belong to us and have not been influenced. *
Life is good when you get to try baked goods! Well, that’s what my boys think, I myself have been watching my macros so I did not partake in this review unfortunately. I am a sucker for these type of snack products so it was a challenge on my part especially since I could smell the yumminess!
About Otis Spunkmeyer:
Otis Spunkmeyer is not a real person. Otis Spunkmeyer was the creation of an adorable 12 year-old girl.
Back in 1976 her father, Ken Rawlings, was walking through the Fox Hills Mall in Los Angeles when something hit him on the nose. Well, it was more in the nose. It was the smell of fresh-baked cookies. The realization that he could make a living surrounded by that heavenly smell inspired him to open a cookie shop.
The first store was in Oakland, and by 1979 he had left his day job to run the store full-time. And his daughter’s quirky name had stuck. By 1983, there were 20 Otis Spunkmeyer stores in California.
Something else Ken was good at smelling was opportunity, so he began to transition from retail to wholesale. This meant Otis Spunkmeyer’s legendary cookie dough began to be shipped to restaurants, delis and cafeterias and any other business that wanted to sell fresh-baked cookies.
And it turned out that there were a lot of them. By the end of the 1980’s, Otis Spunkmeyer trucks were criss-crossing the country delivering cookie dough to over 40,000 accounts. Today, Otis Spunkmeyer is the #1 selling foodservice cookie dough in America – and the #1 selling cookie dough in fundraising.
In 2006 Otis Spunkmeyer was acquired by ARYZTA, a global leader in specialty bakery. With their baking knowledge and retail experience behind us, we at Otis Spunkmeyer were inspired to take perhaps our biggest step since Ken quit his job all those years ago: launching a line of baked treats to sell directly to consumers.
Our Thoughts:
Well, I’m going to start with what seems to be our family favorite, the Otis Spunkmeyer Chocolate Chunk Cookies. These went down quickly! The oversized cookies were a hit. The boys described them as full of chocolate, full of taste, and satisfying. As a mom I like that I can give them something that has no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors or colors, and no PHO’s!
Not too hard and not too soft! One is enough!
6 cookies individually wrapped in a box ready to go!
Oh, how I wanted one of these, but the boys (and the husband) got them all! These Iced Lemon Mini Loaf Cakes went down fast as well! The boys described them as soft and moist and very lemony! These are also individually wrapped and ready for snacking!
Another yummy “no funky” stuff snack for the family! Great for a grab and go.
Okay, it broke my heart not to have one of these Cinnamon Crumb Mini Loaf Cakes. I did save one for myself, but then my son gave me the eyes and I gave it up. Once again a moist sweet cake perfected to satisfy your sweet cravings.
Otis Spunkmeyer also has many fundraising opportunities available for your bake sale and sports or other fundraising needs. Visit the fundraising page for more information! Otis Spunkmeyer has an A plus from us!
