Did you know that kittens are born with their eyes closed, and they are so small that they can fit in the palm of your hand?
Or that being groomed with a toothbrush reminds orphan kittens of their mothers’ tongues, and helps them feel comfy and safe?
Learn these facts and more in Kitten Lady’s first picture book! Hannah uses her engaging, fun voice to show how she helps orphan kittens grow up, get adopted, and become healthy, happy cats. Featuring irresistible photographs and playful doodles, Kitten Lady’s Big Book of Little Kittens shows what you can do to help the tiniest felines in our big, big world.
My Thoughts:
Full disclosure: I am a sucker for kittens! I’m a sucker for cats in general! There I said it! This is a beautiful illustrated book, but it is more than just photos. The book which is for age ranges 4 – 8 is not only cute, but a wonderful learning tool. It teaches children about fostering and rescuing kittens, which ones need to be saved and how to do it. Don’t worry, your kids aren’t going to want to hoard cats. Shaw tells about the work involved and we get to see kittens when they first arrive and when they are ready to move on. She teaches about how to care for the kitten’s while giving facts about their growth and development. A beautifully entertaining book that also teaches children how to care.

This book looks wonderful! I wasn’t much of a cat lover until my daughter got one. 🙂 It sounds like the author does wonderful work.
