Hurds Family Family Farm
This weekend Saturday & Sunday June 5th & 6th Hurds Family Farm is offering the opportunity to get up close to baby animals and walk about through a local art installation photo op nature trail!
My friend and I spent Thursday morning previewing the events that Hurds has planned for this coming weekend. We all know the Hudson Valley has so much to offer and Hurds never disappoints. This Hudson Valley farm is a tradition amongst many families. This is a first time special event at the farm so tickets are limited. Be sure to get your today. I can’t think of a better fun and safe way to spend outdoor with your family or group of friends.
Due to COVID all events will be one group per station, socially distanced and timed ticketing. Do you know what that means? That means that you and your group will be the only ones at that station! This is a perfect time to get photos and not worry about others crowding you or popping in and ruining that great shot.
My friend and I started with the Bounce into Summer Package! Although we didn’t have kids with us, we had a blast! We started with the fish feeding. Fish food is provided for your group. I have to say that I wasn’t expecting much, but it was so much fun. We were shocked by the size and amount of fish that soon appeared by the shore. Some turtles also made their way over to us, bobbing their heads out of the water. One fish even jumped out and scared my little pup! Dogs on leashes are welcomed at Hurds. Please remember to clean up after your pet!
Of course, we couldn’t pass up the chance to get on the Big Apple Bounce! I even fell, but laughed so hard! Guess what? The entire bounce for your time period is just for you and your family!! How great is that? There aren’t many perks when it comes to COVID so I would jump (get it?) at this one. Time periods are roughly 5 minutes per family.
Next is the Wild Apple Obstacle Course with two mirror courses for you to challenge each other. We kind of poked around here because they were laying out more hay and barrels for the course. My kids had participated in this a couple of years ago and had a good time, especially competing against each other.
Finally, we hit the Giant Slide on Pollinator Hill! Oh yes, my puppy and I went down it twice! To my surprise it wasn’t hot and I automatically stopped at the bottom. I know my kids had loved this when we were out there together. Fun, fun, fun.
Hudson Valley Local Art Installation Photo Op Nature Trail
The artists from Dogwood Event Designs were busy Thursday morning setting up the trail. I was able to have a discussion with the artist about what the overall complete vision would be. Personally, I think people are going to love it. There is such attention to detail in the work.
They wanted all the pieces to be family friendly, so that your kids are safe. Some pieces are made to climb on, such as these mushrooms.
The trail will be lined with several photo opportunities for your group. Once again, it is only your group passing through this trail. It is one way in and one way out to keep it safe.
These gorgeous veggies are going to be in a basket for you to take photos with your family. Adults as well as the littles will have an enjoyable visit. We even spotted a frog on our walk through!
Baby Animal Experience
We weren’t able to visit with the baby animals. They are not going to be at the farm until Friday. You will get to say hi to Baby Sheep, Baby Goats, Little Bunnies, Miniature Ponies, Big Pig, Old Donkey and Lots of Chickens & Ducks
I did speak with sweet little girl from the farm that was able to bottle feed a baby cow! Guess what? You can too as part of the VIP experience.
Exclusive VIP Animal Encounters
Get up close and personal with our little bunnies and either baby sheep or baby goats. You will get right in the pen! No need to worry you will still get to stop to say hello to all your other animal friends. Includes double the time at the Bounce Into Summer Activities.
Remember it is one weekend only! Visit Hurds Family Farm for ticketing and more information!
Disclosure: I was offered a chance to preview these events while the farm was closed. All thoughts are my own and have not been influenced. Support local business!
