From the Media Release:
?Tracey Bianchi knows what it’s like to live in the middle of suburbia with a to-do list too long to write down. In Green Mama, she brings green living within reach for every overtired, overstressed, and overwhelmed mom. Her practical suggestions help moms like you make environmentally wise choices at the grocery store, schoolyard, and kitchen table, while keeping an eye on the kids and the budget.
Some Green Tips From Green Mama: ( I tried to pick ones you might not have thought of)
1. Reconsider how you serve your food: How many bags of garbage do you go through after a party? I know we go through tons. Think about investing in plain colored plates, bowls, and glasses that you can just drop in the dishwasher and use over, and over again. Instead of juice boxes and water bottles, what about putting drinks in pitchers- or even giving each guest a reusable water bottle to take home after the party.
2. Explore nontraditional gift registries: The Center for a New American Dream offers an alternative gift registry for any occasion. It’s a cost effective way to celebrate your family and ask for less. You can request meals, babysitting, etc. Check it out at HERE.
3. Replace with Purpose: This is the stage I’m in-if run out and replace everything in your home to make it “green” and throw out all your other items that still work you are actually harming the environment. Replace as you go- when your bulb burns out replace it with a CFL, when you finish with your bathroom cleaner replace with a green cleaner. This is what I’ve been doing and it does make it quite affordable.
That is just a taste of what Bianchi offers in her book. To see what other bloggers are saying about Green Mama click HERE.
