Once again The Moms Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein hosted a fabulous event, this time with Alison Sweeney. Alison Sweeney, host of Biggest Loser and actress on Days of Our Lives, came to New York’s Make Meaning to answer questions and sign her latest book The Star Attraction a novel. The guests were treated to an awesome assortment of foods by Gabriela’s Restaurant. It was a delicious treat! We anxiously awaited to hear what Sweeney had to say about her book, her career and her life. She was gracious, down to Earth and open about being a working mom and what that means to her. Here is a video from the event:
The Moms talking to Alison Sweeney:
Yes, that would be me eating and taking pictures-LOL! As you can see, Sweeney was comfortable talking her life and work. Although this book is fictional, she had a lot of material to work with being in Hollywood. She wanted to capture some moments that although had become common place for her might not be for the general public. I’m sensing some steaminess here! I’m saving this read for the beach on Memorial Day weekend. Maybe you should pick one up as well! After all she is a Soap star of over 20 years, she has some stories to tell!
The Scoop:
I loved that Alison Sweeney came off as being so candid. She sat and answered questions about her weight issues, Days of Our Lives and Biggest Loser. She never flinched or thought a question was too personal. She was proud of the fact that her mother was a working mom and showed her that she could do anything she set her mind to do. She seems secure in the fact that she mirrors this for her own children considering her hectic schedule. She films ” Days” in the morning and then later in the afternoon films Biggest Loser. Somewhere in between there she works out and even has a visit once a week from a trainer to keep her motivated. Although her schedule changes from day to day, she takes time to schedule every moment. How does she do it? Her answer, “If I want to do it. I do it.” With a supporting husband, and staff at work she makes the most of her life and lives it on her terms. It was a true pleasure to met her.
Not only did I get to schmooze with Alison Sweeney and The Moms, but Sweeney was kind enough to film a video message for my son. He’s a big fan and I wish I would have brought him with me! He was thrilled with the message and I can’t thank her enough for making my 9 year old’s day! I can’t wait to dig in and read The Star Attraction. If you have read it let me know what you think! I’ll be sharing my thoughts when I’m through.
