Day 7: 30 Day Photo Challenge
A picture of your most treasured item. Can you guess what mine is? My old school Canon Rebel-yes- it really takes film! You ask why? would this be my most treasured item.
?The story: The big joke in my family has always been that my dad has money hidden in the basement. Well, not so much of joke, but the truth. When my father fell ill with cancer I was a frequent visitor at my parents house and one day he gave me some money that he had hidden in our basement. He told me to hold on to it and if I needed it I could use it. He was afraid he would forget where it was hidden. After he had passed away my mother had asked me if I knew what he had done with the money. I told her I had it in a bank account. I asked her if she wanted it and she said you do what you feel is right. I split the money between myself and my siblings. To my surprise that Christmas I received this camera and a case from my siblings as a gift. It was the most expensive thing I ever owned and it meant so much to me. I love taking pictures and this camera has seen so much.
Even though it might be considered outdated I will always love this camera. It is a sign to me that you will always receive when you are giving free of will. It means that my family will always be there for me. It means that my dad knew what he was doing when he trusted me with his secret. I have to say-probably the proudest moment in my life.
And- I’m crying right now.

Ah, that's so sweet. I have an old-school Canon Rebel too and it means a lot to me because it was the first grown-up camera I owned and I bought it to take pictures of my babies. Those babies are now men, and I still have that camera 🙂
