Medieval Play is the funniest show I’ve seen in quite some time. I didn’t know what I was walking into when I went to see this show, but I was beyond pleased at the outcome.
Here is a bit about the show:
Two French mercenary knights set out on a quest for relative moral redemption against the classic comic background of late 14th century ecclesiastical politics. A story of friendship, love, noble feats of arms, indiscriminate brutality, the progressive refinement of medieval table manners and the general decline of the chivalric ideal at the onset of the Great Papal Schism of 1378. A new comedy by Kenneth Lonergan.
I know what you are thinking. It doesn’t sound like a comedy, but take my word for it you won’t stop laughing. If you have someone in your life that’s not a theater fan this show could turn them into one. My husband said he would recommend this to all of his buddies. He works construction so as you can guess this show has a wide appeal. The cast in amazing. I have to say that every single actor gave a superb performance. I have never been privilege to such an incredible ensemble of players.I didn’t want it to end. Take a look at this interview with actor Tate Donovan about Medieval Play:

While my husband and I enjoyed the show, our children were once again being entertained at Playtime! Playtime! offers creative and affordable childcare during your shows performance. At $15 per child, no matter what length your show might be, it’s a steal. My children have participated in a few programs with Playtime! and the themes have included pirates, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. The sitter have all had background checks and are CPR certified. They are also artists in their own right and take your children on an arts journey of their own. The children sing songs, dance and create visual arts while in their care. I also love that when I pick up my boys I get a detailed report about what they did, ate, and other comments about their time with their art-sitters.
Playtime! is fantastic program that has allowed me and other parents the opportunity to go back to the theater in an affordable way. My children look forward to it. If you have children between the ages of 4-12 this could be the program for you. For more information about Playtime!
Disclosure: Tickets to the show and childcare were provided to me and family from Playtime! and MamaDrama. All thoughts are 100% my own.
