I was very excited to be chosen to review Signing Times On Demand. I started using the Signing Times DVD’s when my son was a toddler and wasn’t speaking. He learned to sign and was finally able to communicate his needs to us. The videos are fun and easy to follow and the kids love them. Here is a description of the product:
Signing Time digital videos are widely used by parents and teachers because they support language, learning, and literacy skills for children of all ages. Signing also helps children with Down syndrome, autism, and language delays overcome communication barriers. The Signing Time series, hosted my Emmy-nominated Rachel Coleman, currently airs on public television stations as well as cable network Nick, Jr.
Now you can browse the online catalog of Signing Times videos, download and watch in minutes. It’s easy. It literally took more time to pick my videos than it did to download. First, you browse the catalog. You can watch a sample from each series to help you chose. Then you add your choice to the cart, checkout and your ready to download. You can watch on your PC, Mac, iPad, Apple Touch and Apple TV.
To be honest we haven’t watched Signing Times in years, but as soon as I started to play the video both of my boys were engaged. I didn’t even ask them to watch yet, but they began following and signing along. I can’t believe it. It truly brought me back to when my oldest was a little guy. This video series helped us in ways you can’t imagine. My son finally had a voice, with his hands. I highly recommend this series to for any child. Today while I watched both my boys trying to sign I thought to myself that this would be a great activity that we all could participate in this Summer.
